Hi Dimsum and 8228,
Thanks for all your valuable sharing. Another question. I thought NYP teaches 弟子规?But I do not see it being listed as one of the textbooks for us to purchase? Do you know when if this will be introduced to the kids? -
One qn…
for P1 recess, will it be all 390 at recess? wont it be very crowded and wait long time to buy food? pls advise… -
弟子规 doesn’t have any textbook.
Teaching of 弟子规 is during curriculum time. I am also curious exactly when they teach it and whether they teach it explicitly, as in whether they explain it clearly. Is it during Chinese lesson? My blur daughter could never tell me anything about school!
Do they still practise having P5 buddies teaching the P1s to buy food on the first 3 days of school?
Oh I am so looking forward to my little one going to primary school! -

Can someone show a picture of the ‘basket’ that the students can put under their desks? What is the number lock for? Is it the 3-digit, small one used to lock luggage? Thanks!

In Toh Tuck campus, there are no P5 students. The P1s bought food with PVs' assistance.弟子规 doesn't have any textbook.

A copy of 弟子规漫画书 will be distributed to the students. My boy also cant tell me much about how/ what he learns dizigui in school. Seems like the learning is during morning assembly. -

Hi hi,
I am sorry. I was just giving examples of the list of to-buy from the form teacher, as opposed to a to-bring list. The to-buy list may differ for different classes. For all you know, there may not be any to-buy list now. You may want to wait till you meet the form teacher. The school or teachers will give you a reasonable amount of time to get what your child needs, if there really is such a need. -
Are the Chinese character cards still on the must-buy list?
If they are, don’t bother to buy them. Not used at all.
Don’t bother wrapping the Maths workbooks. They normally
tear out the pages to work on, then hole-punched and filed.
For us, we are also not planning to buy the Maths textbooks
next year. Throughout DD’s 5 years, and DS’s 1 year in Nanyang,
the textbooks were not used at all.
