Science can be pick up at P5 onwards, no worries at this stage. Aim to finish within top 100 and improve the position gradually.

At prelims, should finished within top 70 and on PSLE results day, can securely scored at least 250 and above ie 2A* 2A or better.

        comfy:
Personally I think the change will not be very effective, with the ranking in class and level (especially) still there.

I think I either read from this thread or heard from somewhere that a class teacher's yearend bonus is tied to class performance.

Under the old system, a not so responsible class teacher who is posted to a weak class might be already disheartened to teach since she knows very well the quantum of improvement is marginal no matter how much effort she puts into teaching this class of weak pupils.

But under the new system with a mixture of ability ranging for strong to weak (5th class to 10th class), this same class teacher will hv more incentive to work harder.

Maybe this new system can make a difference, at least to these teachers.

Jennifer, really tickle by your last remark \"I will follow you...\" till humming this tune in my head now.

U know the song title? I love this song, but can only remember bits n pieces of it.

Anyone who knows this song, can post the title here? I can get my elder boy to download it into my hp.

Sorry, bad habit only remember song but not title, always has a problem in listing/searching songs in KROK.

When teachers work harder, pupils also benefit 😉

                  Jennifer/Comfy,

I don’t think the title of the song is ‘I will follow you’ but likely to be ‘I will follow him’. The movie ‘Sister Act’ used this song.

Lost my voice from coughing too much…any kind person who is attending ALMIGHTY’s speech pls update us on her decree…appreciate it greatly.

Science is a subject whereby the child must have interest in. It’s actually very interesting…in the process of compiling notes for son, I learnt quite a bit and also found that to get that 2 marks, the crucial details must be provided. Mummies, if you want to know how marks are allocated for Science, do take a look at RGPS 2009 SA2 exam. The teacher who sets the exam gave a detailed score sheet and how marks are given and based on what.

Sidetrack, this PH thread is very long now. Should we request for permission from Chief/mods to start a new thread for 2011 PH? Also mark the unofficial \"inaugural ceremony\" of new class names?

                    No-Lah!
