Not possible? Look, more girls qualified after the first screening this year. 14 from my dd's class alone! 15 from another class I know of! A total of 90 plus students sat for the second selection test, according to some parents. I think the figure does add up somewhat, cos even the pupils are sharing similar numbers. Anyway, I just wanted to help the moms trying to complete their option forms for GEP. Let me repeat: NOT OFFICIAL until the school says so.

It is so common to have more than half the class to clear thru the 1st screening. For 2nd round, less than 8 of them in each class make it and I am talking about the best 3 classes. Both my children have gone thru and they are now in GEP currently. Thus, the statistics on this estimation is incorrect.

getting confused!!! I believed that there is about 8 P3 classes, and if there are 4 girls selected from a sample class, then there should be about 24 (assuming average of 3 per class) to 32 (assuming average of 4 per class) selected from the school. The calculation adds up.

Elitelab says that if less than 8 of them in each class make it, then will there be 8 x 8 which is 64??? further confusion when it was mention from the best 3 classes? Is your child from RGPS? my gal is going P3 next year, but it is stated that P3 are all multi-talented ie, they get mixed up (=> the standard are similar) so will there be \"best 3 classes\"? Or perhaps I am told wrongly and the school does stream secretly (which i dont think so)..... 🤷

Base on my DD's experience, RGPS will be not streaming until P4, there were not best 3 classes in P3. My DD's class got 8 girls clear the 1st round, and 3 of them went through the GEP test last year.

Elitelab, are you sure you are from RGPS?

There are NO BEST 3 CLASSES at P3. Classes remain multi-talented and girls are only differentiated from P4 onwards. Other mommies, please verify.
            :please:

streaming begin only at end of P3 - to enter P4 classes.
if a child has been offered GEP, some will transfer out their child to Nanyang primary or another GEP centre nearer their home, while others choose to remain in RGPS.

              from P1 - P3: No streaming.
pupils remain in the same class throughout - from P1 to P3.

P1 and P2 same class of 30 each. P3 change to 40 per class. So P3 has reshuffle but it is not according to results. Just to addon.

No they do not remain in the same class at P1 & 2 but there is some reschuffling at P3. Classes are not allocated base on results though.
