Yes, Chinese class is a \"must\" for my girl not all about academic but also she gets to mix around with other P1 school mates. Hope it is cheap and good.

Btw, have u prepare your dd and ds for the Chinese show and tell ? My girl sure can't make it with presentation in Chinese. Just get her to try her best. πŸ˜›

Hi parents of DLS St Gabriel 1,

My child is in St Gabriel 1, I am in touch with a few other parents, and I find it very helpful to exchange information with other parents.

Sometimes the children are not able to copy down or remember all the instructions given by the teachers and hence they either fail to convey them to the parents or the messages are incomplete. Hence networking with other parents are very useful.

If you are interested to stay in touch, pls post a reply with your email address.

          Cheers!
          Hi πŸ˜„

My son is in St Gabriel too

yes, me too....my ds is not strong in chinese too so

the must for all these extra enrichments..... and it
isn't very ex; $120 for 20 sessions; pretty
reasonable. must be in school by 8.45am on sat ??
can wear sports attire right?? the note mentioned must
be in school wear so i assume wearing sports attire should
be fine  .... any comments???

for the show & tell, my ds's turn has passed already (y'day)
but i did prepare him at home with a little speech
though i do not know how much he can remember
            and reiterate out..... πŸ˜‰

For Sat enrichment lesson since it is conducted at school compound thus I think both uniform or PE attire should be fine. I will let her put on PE attire and wait for comments from teacher.

My girl told me that she has done her show and tell yesterday too but according to plan schedule, the actual dates are today and tomolo. Sometimes not sure whether to believe her or not. Furthermore, she said teacher said she and one of her classmate scored full marks. Silly girl, how to score full marks in show and tell so really doubt her understanding.

i can't comment on the show & tell coz i remembered

yr dd & my ds are in different class for CL.
but it may be possible tat yr dd scored full marks for
her show & tell...... wait for the progress card & u will see πŸ˜‰

for my ds, he said after his show & tell, teacher din
say anything & he said it was the same for all other
students in his CL class.

anyway, i must say ur girl is very good in her academic
studies & I think she is the very driven type.... well trained
                mvelle!!! :celebrate:

if we are not the one who go around to ask donation, who else? my son not even know what is charity. And at the end i think the parent need to come out pocket money as i really hate to ask donation since young.

Same. I will ask hubby to donate instead.

It is really a blessing that she is coping well in first term of P1. Hope she continues the positive learning attitude and enjoy her school life. There is still a long long way ahead of her.

Does anyone facing mosquito bites problem in DLS ? My girl always came back with it and said that she is not the only one, her classmates that play at field during recess got it too.

Hey, thanks to those who replied to my call for 1G parents. Btw, my son is in MT 1J … so similarly, either post a reply or reply to me in private (hee sorry as you can tell from my profile I am a newbie to this - just realised can send private mail by clicking on the [pm] button).

Sorry this is coming a bit late, this is the reply of English Teacher for 1G :
The Project Work will be independent work by each individual pupil and spans over coming Mon, Tue and Wed. The pupils can however clarify with the teacher if they are unclear about the tasks. The teacher will also give some examples on how the task can be accomplished. This alternative assessment will be graded, but the marks will not be considered in their final year report book. Putting the children through this exercise hopefully help them to be be more prepared for the real one in 3rd/4th term.
You can give him more pictures, with family, with friends, so that he has more choices to pick from. It’s important that he has his own glue, scissors and colour pencils.

As for the show and tell, I will be giving them some guiding questions so that they can prepare their script for presentation in class in front of their classmates in Week 9. Pls take a look at the guiding questions when he brings back on Monday and help him in memorising the lines.
