After reading this morning's papers, I read that Qiu Biqing started here from P3. So she's a combination of China's/SG's/Qifa/her parents' nuture. Well done, girl/Qifa!

I watched the news yesterday where they interviewed the girl ...and i can't help but ponder over what she said. (Not words for words but she said something to this effect) She is happy & surprised that she is \"Xin Jia Po Di Yi\" (Singapore's No.1) rather than the usual \"Wo Guo Di Yi\" (1st in our country).... Can't help but wonder if, to her, Singapore is just Singapore ; and not really her \"country\" (even tho i heard she is now a Citizen) or maybe i got my facts wrong (ie she is not citizen).

I'm just saying my thoughts & observations aloud. Not anti-anything. Just feel sad if she is indeed a Citizen and still don't \"feel belong\" here ...Don't throw stones at me too! I'm all for the nation too - so much for patriotism 🙂

I happened to help my friend in China to register his daughter in Qi Fa 3 months ago on 28th August. there were 21 vacant seats for foreign students.

My original plan was registering her in Fu Hua primary school but when reached Fu Hua there were more than 10 people in front of me and the school have only 6 seats. so I rushed to Qi Fa and happily registered the girl into Qi Fa. Think next year no chance for foreign students liao.

                  insider:

If next year Qifa really faces extreme interest in their P1 registration, then it really speaks volume about the immaturity of many parents.

This China girl who got 290 in her PSLE (think she came to Singapore when she was about 10 years old, hardly knowing any English). Don't think her good results have really much to do with the school. This diligent and intelligent girl, basically put her anywhere she also can shine...

                  Herd instinct. Tsk tsk tsk...

exactly, insider. She's the result of china's system and her parents' excellent genes..nature/nuture debate; not our education system. So why is everybody so excited about the school? :? It's got nothing much to do with which school or what principal she has... More importantly, the teachers and parents she has...herd mentality indeed.

unless of course, Qifa has a few other outstanding ones who were there since P1...then we can safely say, it's a great school, with wonderful teachers and principal, plus supportive parents.

PS: I'm not sour grapes, anti-qifa or anti-prc, pls don't stone me either. My allegiance is to the nation and the family. :salute:

Her grandmother says she is a piece of gold and will shine wherever she goes. Quote from lianhe zaobao : \" 是金子到那里都会发光“

Just curious, after 290 what is the next highest score for PSLE from QIFA. Their website has not listed the scores for 2009.

My nephew is in Qifa and BIL does not want to register his younger son into Qifa for his P1. So …

                        Hi all,

anyone’s kid is studying in Qifa Pri now? please share your views - how’s the school’s culture, system and the commitment of the teachers?

the location a bit out of the way and i check the sch’s website, they seems to have strong CCA’s…
