My DS is in P3, he has a teacher, who to me is a sulky one, and perhaps doesnt know how to motivate a child. Now, exams are around the corner & this is the time, where parents need to revise with the child, but if teachers give so much of homework,, then how are we suppose to revise ?
My Ds also attends tuition, and the homework no time to finish, I feel like writing in to MOE about West Grove ! I understand that they need to give homework but cant they give lesser homework !! :yikes: -
with regards to your issue, have you find out from the teacher why there are still so much homework during exam period? are all these homework meant to be just revision for all the kids in class?some children may not be having tuition so the teacher give homework for them to revise?
Furthermore, next week is PSLE marking week with 4 days of no schooling for the kids so I think that's why there are lots of homework.
These are just some of my thoughts..... :boogie: -
Just received the orientation letter. DS2 will be in class 1E next year. Anyone’s child also in that class too?

Hi All parents with kids in P2 this year,
Has your child been notified about which class/section they will be going in P3 next year?
Any clue when is the parent-teachers meeting to distribute the marksheet/report card? -
Hi parents,
My dd is in P1 this year. I would to check regarding of CCA selection.
Today my dd received a letter to join the Art club in P2 but this is not her 1st choice. I’m wondering how is the cca selection work? Will she be able to choose her preference cca next year? -

Hi,
My DD is in P2 this year too.
So far, my DD teacher only told them the top 10 in class but didn't mention class/section next year.
There will be no parent-teachers meeting in distributing report card for year end. They only organise during mid-year so parent and teacher could discuss ways to improve the child's grade if he/she is weak. Heard the report book will distribute next week. -

Agree!
My DD also gets loads of homework esp maths.I believe not just prepare the weak one but also prepare everyone the questions they may face in SA2.
There are some homeworks which the form teacher ever mention not necessary to do but I still get my dd to complete them as preparation for exam as I believe some of the questions will appear in SA2.
I have a P6 DS in West Grove too. Esp math, I ever use past year papers from other top school to prepare my DS, but after exam over and I got he's SA2 papers, they are much more tougher.
My DD is P2 this year. I let her try past year top school paper for math, she score almost 100 marks for RGS/NYP past year math paper but score 79 for West Grove math practice papers. -

My DD also P2 this year.
She already got her results for Chinese but not the other 2 subjects.
I'm praying hard that there will be a change of form teacher for her next year. -

My daughter knows her chinese paper 2, english paper 2 and maths results.
But she does not know the total marks for chinese and english as such.
In her class, teacher already announced the class ranking. My DD1 is 4th in Class
.
Class separation is also advised. My DD and 4 kids from her class are going to 3H (1st best class she told me :xedfingers: ..not sure about this yet...
)
There is no information about the report card distribution.. quite surprised to hear that there is no parent-teachers meeting to discuss the results.
Have to wait till she returns today evening to know more...
Any of your kid going to 1st best class in P3?
