Rosyth

Rosyth cut at every 80 in standard and distribute amongst 2 classes (40 each class). So there is no one top class, and they have topmost 2 classes plus another top 2 classes.
My boy is going to P3 too. As I knew, the sequence is following \"I am ready to serve!\".keekee:
Hi,
Today is the class promotion day at Rosyth. My dd is p2 going to p3 next year. Can fellow parents share with me how to tell whether dd gets stream into a good, average or requires improvement class? During my days, we can easily tell by class a, b, c, d etc. But nowadays, the names are integrity, virtue, earnest etc, difficult to tell leh.....
Thanks.
As far as I know, Integrity and Adventurous are the first topmost 2 classes followed by Meticulous and Respectful. Total 160 students in these 4 classes.
The rest of the students are distributed into classes by subject banding (strong subjects vs weak subjects).
Hope this helps. -

Streaming happpens at P3 and only based on Math and Eng results (not sure about now, you must check). Another kudos to Rosyth is that they try to lessen the elitist mindset in smart kids by not putting the top 40 in 1st class. They take top 80, grade them in order and put one kid alternately in each class. This way, the 1st class is not the best. The 1st 2 classes is, does this help? Ha! I guess it helps a little. Interestingly, people still have the impression that Integrity is the top 40.

Hey, DS is going to P3 too... Going by the norm per previous years, \"I\" & \"A\" are considered the best. The rest may not necessary be in order ..

However, form teacher told my DS that this yr allocation will be in random. But looking at the individual student results, it seems to tie to the norm.. that is, top students go into 'I\" and \" A\" -
BTW… any 2010 P3 parents here ? Anyone has any idea how many Rosyth students hv actually passed the 2nd GEP selection ? Was told "I" class has 10, and "A" has "6". Any fr other classes ? Can someone share this ?

Do all p3 students get a chance to sit for GEP test or only those selected by teachers?

All of them are encouraged to go for the test. Prior to this, was told that some of the students will be selected to go for special training . -

If the kid is in Integrity / Adventurous class on P4, they will take Higher Chinese lessons with the GEP students, but test will be normal Chinese paper. Thanks pen88n & JamesZ for sharing. Picture is now clearer.

By P5, it will then be decided if kid taking HCL. Usually 4 classes of HCL - Integrity, Adventurous, Meticulous and Respectful.
Hope this helps. -
Guess those students selected for special training are those identified as with potential. I took the test more than 2 decades ago, but never make it lah, hahaha… Time flies
Seems like rosyth does not offer HCL as readily as other schools. Some non-sap schools offer HCL fm p1. Probably a blessing in disguise to dd coz she is already struggling with normal chinese…
Thanks everyone for sharing and let me have a better understanding of rosyth. Being a ftwm, the closest i go near the school is when i fetch dd in the evening.
Btw dun think there’s random allocation this yr. The top students fm dd’s class go to adventurous.
