I wish to enroll my son into Poi Ching next year 2022 P1 under Phase 2C.
Staying within 1km distance from the school
Can anyone can advise how much is the chance to get a place or how many place in P1for 2021 ?

check whether Poi Ching primary school provide any school bus Transport to Joo Seng / Aljunied.

Because

Bidadari is
next to Joo Seng (Aljunied).
If have,
ask the school bus driver to come to Bidadari pick up your kid, after picking kids up from Joo Seng / Aljunied area.


If don't have school bus transport,
the options available for u, include :-

1) renting out your current Bidadari flat (house), collect your monthly rental income from tenants &
in turn

rent another house much closer to Poi Ching, for the next 6 years,
until
your kid complete his (her) PSLE.


2) you may have to give up your Phase 2A (ex P6 graduate) Poi Ching slot, apply for schools that are nearer (closer) to Bidadari under Phase 2C, like

Example

- a) Maris Stella Junior (which involved balloting for SCs less than 1 km, under Phase 2C).

Note
only certain block number inside the Bidadari housing hdb estate fall under less than 1 km, from Maris Stella (MS) primary.

If your Bidadari BTO hdb block (flat) happen to fall outside of 1 km radius away, Sorry, then u can't apply under Phase 2C, because balloting arises for SCs who are staying less than 1 km, from MS. Thus, you will need to veify your distance range, from MS. Is it less than 1 km, or more than 1 km from MS ?

If your kid is a boy,
there is affliation to Maris Stella Secondary school. Better than Poi Ching primary, don't even have any affliation to Secondary side, at all.
Both Maris & Poi Ching are SAP schools.

b) St Andrew Junior
(check, what is the balloting distance involved, for SCs).

If your kid is a boy,
there is affliation to St Andrew Secondary, and this Secondary school in turn has affliation to SAJC (St Andrew Junior College), for A-level.


c) Cedar primary school (co-ed), which is just downstairs your Bidadari house. Don't even need to take school bus. Just a 10 to 15 minutes walk with your child to school, depending on the speed of your walking.

I see so many kids staying at Bidadari, have their
parents / maids (helper) / grand-parents holding their hand, carry their school bag,

walking with them chit chatting happily to Cedar primary school early in the morning & afternoon, after school hours are dismissed.


d) Geylang Methodist primary (co-ed), have affliation to Geylang Methodist Secondary.

And if your kid were to study in the affliated Secondary school, then your kid in turn will have affliation to ACJC (Anglo Chinese Junior college) for A-level, after your kid completed his (her) Sec 4 O-level.



e) Cannosa primary, a Catholic (co-ed) primary school.
