My son last year had weekly tests and only some carried marks. So I lost track which are the formal assessments. -
Gabby:
Is it a norm? My son in 2D n he does nor seem to know when are the weekly Chinese tests. Maybe he is blur haha.
not sure if tis is norm... but tis is wat the teacher told me... my kid is just as blurr.... -
So often that DD failed to update me of the test dates either... so what I did is give her a calendar and stickers, then I asked her to \"mark\" all upcoming the test dates she can remember. Another info source is the handbook. Really need to spend efforts digging if want to be kept in loop.
Just found out this from school website: Holistic Assessment Programme for P1 and P2. Big test dates are listed. Weekly quiz? don't think so... but never mind, let the kids \"own\" some quiz results to themselves... it is P2. Just my thinking.

Hi, Gabby. P2 just had their 1st Word Recognition Test last Thur. I got the test paper back yesterday. U haven't got yours back?
I was told that going forward, this test is fornightly instead of weekly like in P1. So, each test will test the whole unit instead of half unit like in P1. So, if correct, the next test is 16 Feb and is on lesson 6 to 10. -

Last year P1, the 1st term was on HanYuPinYin and there were a few tests which I cannot remember if it was weekly ... maybe yes, like from week 4 to week 10? From 2nd to 4th term, there was weekly test on Word Recognition. Each test is half unit. Each unit comprises of 5 lessons.
Suggest u check with the teacher to confirm. Also, the weekly test time is similar for whole cohort. So, check with teacher from any class can also do. -

normally i dun check her bag, i wan her to be responsible for her own work, but at times a check with her can really surprise me:S -

Correction....
Somehow, yesterday, 2E tested lesson 6 n 7 which I am not aware of either. Heard from other parent that this Thurs will test on lesson 8.
As for 2H, this thurs test lesson 6 n 7, after I called to ask the teacher.
Seems like diff class has diff schedule. So, u may have to call the teacher as well. -

Mine are getting lazy and don't write handbook anymore. When asked them, they act smart saying they use memory but yet all forgotten. Then all homework piled up last week and they have to spent the whole weekend clearing backlog. I hope that is a good lesson for them and I can be more n more hands off in future. But still need to keep reminding them that they own the homework and not me!
