Hi Siau, you bought a normal school bag or those trolley type that he can pull along? I have not bought the bag for him cos' I'm undecided. Yup, must prepare the kids now already cos' I heard (not sure if it's true or not) that during the first few days of school, the school will make the P1 kids go through a diagnostics test to assess their competency level if I'm not wrong. any parent heard of this?

      Hi Rojakz..
I bought backpack without trolley...SPI...I surveyed and found tt trolley bags are heavier and not practical if kids need to climb steps...
Wow..competency test even in Cedar...cool...It ll be interesting...don't worry too much I guess... When u r ready ,ur kids will ready too.. πŸ˜„

school bag - hv not decided what kind to buy. i did ask my siblings/cousins on trolley bags too. they say not all sch allow and also it will be tough for the kids to bring up the stairs.

my time in cedar, was the SUPER old building, they normally put P1 and P2 at ground floor. not sure if they still do that. guess we will know during orientation.

diagnostics test - hv not heard of it also.

school uniform - was there a change in their uniform? girls no longer wear pinafore?

Siau, sorry for my ignorance. is SPI a brand or a type of bag?

Hi limcarmel, oh I didnt know that some schools didnt allow trolley bags. Hmm… then I’ll just buy a normal backpack for DS. Anyone knows if the Popular bags, Popkids is good?

African violet, our orientation is the same. Maybe they only arranged a single session for everyone since the intake is so small this time?

JTS, the recess sessions for the kids are split by sessions. The P1 & P2 will have their recess first at 10am or 10.15, folled by P3 & P4 etc. I happened to be there that time when the kids were having their recess.

No idea when they changed the uniform but I saw the girls no more wearing pinafore when i was there for the registration excercise.

                    Hi rojakz,

Hi African Violet, the recess for the kids is only 15 mins. I dont remember it being too long. Lol... i forgot to ask what are the school hours like. Asked many other questions except for that one. I know that they are a single-session school though. You stay near the school? I stay at Potong Pasir. πŸ™‚
