The principle said during the briefing that P1 and P2 will be in the same class.

P3, he will reshuffle it. But how he going to band it, he didn’t said. I guess it should be based on their grades.

For P5 banding, the grading system can be found in the pupil diary.

        Band 1 - 85 -100

        Band 2 -70 -84

        Band 3 - 50 - 69

        Band 4 - 0-49

For those who failed the subject, need to take up the foundation subject.

          Swee Keng,

I saw the homework that came in over the weekend. Maths, Chinese and English. Lots work going on every week -- activity books, spelling, Stellar worksheet, haopengyou newsletter exercises and the new Grammar textbook. My son is not complaining but I do find the workload excessive for week 3, sigh. Yup, know SG is like this but quite sad (though cannot convey this feeling to kid of coz).
ya, have the same sentiment as you. have to spread the homeworkS across the weekend. 😢

For P5, it is known as subject-based banding. It is done in all sch in SG. Pupils who are extremely weak are either recommended or have to do foundation in that subject eg, Maths. Pupils who are ok in that subject will do the standard. Being weak will mean getting 25 or lower grade in the combined grade for both SA1 and SA2.

I think Pei Chun will band their pupils according to grades and whether are they selected into the sports class or not.

I am quite relief to know that for P1 & P2 they all will be in same class, not going to stream them as I feel it is rather early & stressful to do so in P1. Thanks for the replies!

                    1. I didn’t see the Grammar book, has it been given to the kids?
                    2. What is tyhe difference between SS and CME?
                    3. Why are they doing drawings for Music period?
                    4. My girl told me now its english reading on Mon, Tue & Fri and chinese reading for Wed and Thu. Izit true?
                    5. My girl in 1F is doing the unit 2 worksheets of STELLER. I thought they will give us back the unit 1 worksheets to file?? Or teachers are doing the filing?

                      a) My girls have recieved the Grammer book.

                      b) Yes. It is stated in one of the briefing note that mon, tue & fri are english story book, other day, bring chinese book

                      c) So far, all worksheets are done and return back to the teacher. Some of the worksheet need parents signture. After signing, dd will bring back to school for the teacher to keep.

Don’t know about the SS, CME and music period.
