For P4 Math, I think CA1 is tougher than SA1… Level mean for CA1 is only 49.5% whereby level mean for SA1 is around 55% if i am not wrong? My girl did slightly better in SA1 than in her CA1…and Yes, CFS ENG & Math exam papers are tougher than the previous school…

Is the English paper considered tough for P3 level? I am rather worried with my child’s results. The mean score for CA1 was around 60 and this time round, it looks like around the same score. The mean for paper 2 was around 39/65, that is 60% too. Something must be wrong. Is it the whole cohort is weak in English? Or the paper is difficult or there is something wrong with the Englush program in school?

I am also concerned abt dd results. For p2, none are above 80. Can I say poor?

Love and accept the child no matter what grades the child get. Look at the marks the child was awarded with, not the marks the child missed. Children hate to be compared for their marks. Rewind back to our own childhood and you will recall. Affirm the child with positive encouragement.

I am wondering for this year’s P1 mid year results, did any teachers comment during the PTM what are the marks to benchmark to? We were totally clueless even after the PTM as teacher did not reveal much.

For P3, I was told by the English teacher that the English paper was not difficult, so I guess for those who did badly in English, time to read more (newspapers, articles etc to increase vocabulary strength) and write more.

Wonder why the school don’t reveal the level highest or mean in report book now?

                Hi Imp,

I noted too that my girl’s report book don’t show the level highest or mean. I guess they don’t want the parents to be too "kiasu" and start comparing marks, hence bringing more stress to children.

Possibly due to new principal or moe asking not reveal mean/highest marks. This is first time these info are not available

Just wanted to find out if there is streaming from p3 to p4? I understand the classs are fixated from p5 onwards but not sure from p3 to p4 what happens. I think it is quite devastating to the kids to have to change classmates every year till p5

At one of the dialogue sessions between parents and teachers, we were told that there is streaming from P3 to P4.
