I guess should be same class. I get my girl to finish copying the 2 compos before revising English with her.

Immeemee, my girl is attending Berries but it don't seems to help her much. Hence, I paced with her hw.

Since yr girl's chinese foundation is not good, it is advisable to consider other source of additional learning so that she can catch up.
Berries also cannot help? oh dear ...

          Immeemee,

Berries cannot help is because they don’t follow school syllabus that much. And the level of language used is 2 times ahead. And they don’t really emphasize on the strokes writing. And not many written assesment which writing is not put into regular practice. They conduct enrichment class and not tuition class. Apart from all these, it also depends on the child learning ability & interest in the subject. My girl is not interested in Chinese and that explains her limited knowledge on the subject.

There are other centres that follow school syllabus namely Tien Hsia, Skylace, Han Language which are the more popular ones.

Perhaps u might want to consider these for your dd? I will be pulling my dd out from Berries (since she is struggling to catch up) and place her to another centre that emphasize more on strokes writing and weekly spelling.

              Hi parents

On a different issue here, can I ask here if your kids’ teachers teach them the words in the spelling list. Esp those words in the word banks? Mine (both from different levels) said that they only teach them after they had their spelling. And sometimes not at all. How are our kids going to learn the words when they don’t even know the pronounciation and meanings to them. I would like to find out if this happen to your kids as well.

I believe so, my gal seems to know the meaning of those words when she was prepping for the spelling.

I think the P1 & P2s’ math journal and performance tasks are not a good testing for maths, it seems like testing english rather than maths. Written assessment is a better test for maths.

My dd improves a lot in her SA1 exam. I'm pleased with her performance. 🙂

I am surprised to find out that this year the pupils ranking in class is disclosed to parents. What’s the point of doing that if you don’t show last years comparative and the standard position as well
