Tingkat Dinner

Got fish, got chicken, got pork...but the taste is just not delectable.I see.. noted.. will juz order for 3 den. my hubby is a fussy eater.. only enjoys black pepper stuff and must have meat..
Totally understand ur point.. i will just try for a mth n maybe will go bak to my 1 soup 1 dish cooking.. hahaha
Problem is the food lacks 锅气...it is like microwave food.
I cook 1 dish for lunch as it is...bcos kids boycott when they don't like the food for dinner...so at least they have a proper home-cooked lunch. -
I didn’t go for tingkat in the end. Went to tapao meat dishes from nearby economic rice stall when I felt lazy. Cooked my own rice, soup and vege. Super cheap! About $6-7 for the whole family compared to $5/pax from tingkat. Plus I could choose what I wanted to eat and the food was hot.

Yup tried Neo Garden. Sucked after a while. I had wanted to go back to tingkat but DH baulked at the idea coz of the bad experiences we had with so many caterers last time. Threw away most of the food last time. :sick:Ya... more ex by $48.. Most prob will take the 4 days per week Economy and c how it goes..
If it is for a family of 5, i think to order for 4 pax is good..
Anyone tried Neo Garden?
Janet, you still bother to keep in the fridge ah...
He liked the economic rice stall tapao idea coz we can have curry anytime, kids can have non-spicy dishes.
Guess only pple who can't cook can eat tingkat long-term. Pple who can cook will definitely nitpick the cooking style etc. -
Sometimes have to close 2 eyes and throw bcos food is yucky.
Frustrating part is paying for food and not knowing what you will get.
If order from zi char or economy rice, at least we can see before ordering.
Enough of tingkat. -
MintyMin:
Wah.. the negative comments really make me decide not to have tingkat.. esp the fact that i can cook.. juz tat it will be super rush for me to do cooking, eating n washing up.. leaving not much time.
Buying dishes from economical rice stall & just cook rice is the best choice. Can choose what you like to eat & cheaper too. Sometimes you can cook one pot dish or buy chicken rice & fried a plate of vegetable. -
Yes…home cooked meals are healthier…the oil we use is clean and of better quality. All the little stuff like eggs, soya sauce, oyster sauce add up.

I just called Kim’s Kitchen - a 5 days trial, starting tmr.
Need to take a break from cooking this sch hols. -
I just arranged a 5 days trial tingkat with Kim’s Kitchen, tmr 1st day.
According to the lady who took my order, the menu is less salt, less oil, BUT cannot be MSG free. -

Overall, not too salty, not oily, MSG within acceptable amt- not thirsty.
I find most of the dishes r soupy type. Maybe such is easier for reheating? -
Jennifer:
I spend at least one hour doing preparation and washing up each day, a ceiling fan will make the job less sweaty
Jennifer, won't the ceiling fan affect the fire?ngl2010:

The next time I renovate my kitchen, dishwasher is top of priority followed by a ceiling fan and a wall mounted tv
Of course, not blowing during cooking.[/quote]I thought you have induction cooker. I know somebody that installed air-con in the kitchen. I cannot imagine how oily the air-con is and :moneyflies:
