      absolutwild:
a few years back, and even for last year, those residing within 1km will not have a problem getting in the school. but alas... how things have changed.

previously, at least for phase 2C supp, there are still schools like st margarets, marymount convent to apply... but now... SIGHH...
all the time up to 2011, St Margaret and Marymount were sleeping, dormant giant - with plenty of seats vacant in 2C Supp, ready to absorb those failed in 2C balloting.

today, these two giant schools woke up in the year of the Dragon, roaring ! Many parents hunger for them, eager to charge in. Next year - predict St Marg and Marymount FULL house, by end of Phase 2C.

      to avoid crowd:-
for Catholic - can enter Marymount one phase earlier, Phase 2B.
for Anglican - can enter St Marg earlier, Phase 2B.

an unknown number also come from the newly converted SCs (formerly PRs). Now that they've become SCs - they'll be fighting head on clash with SCs born here. Need to look at Total summation. Looking at birth rate of SC born piggies data insufficient to conclude whether more piglet boys or girls. Only after factor in newly converted SCs then can tell whether more 2007 boys or more girls.

PRs from the European, US, Japan etc from many advanced countries may not trade their own country citizenship for Singapore. Many PRs also may have dual citizenship with other advanced countries, they will not give up. Which countries will give up for Singapore? Malaysia, China, India etc???

China and India have more boys in singapore?

Not too sure if there are any PR that did not withdraw from the other schools but the number should be negligible.

For co-ed schools, you may want to look at schools in other areas too.

For SC, be rational and avoid ballot. If you are unlucky you will end up in P3. but you can per MOE website
\"Singapore Citizen (SC) / Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) children who are unsuccessful in obtaining a Primary One place in a school of their choice at the end of Phase 2C Supplementary should approach MOE to facilitate their placement to a school which still has vacancies.\"

NB. St Marg 1 SC, the other 25 PR has no time to withdraw and register at another sch due to last min registration by SC.
Not too sure if there are any PR that did not withdraw from the other schools but the number should be negligible.

                        Summary
Marymount 14SC>2km should withdraw and go to other schools to avoid ballot.
Those SC>2km from CHIJ OQLOP should be at the school to monitor their chances. You would be booted out or going for ballot if someone stays within 2km turns up.
Canossa Convent can accomodate another 14SC.
St Gabriel can take in another 4SC.
Many places in Montford Junior, Bukit Timah, Stamford and Balestier Hill.

For co-ed schools, you may want to look at schools in other areas too.
