Hi need some help.
Does anyone know where to buy the Magic Tree House series of books in Spore? I am specifically looking at the non fiction books in the series - Fact Trackers.
Thanks! -
Dear parents , could someone enlighten me on this ? My gal is 2.5 years and enjoys me reading to her . Sometimes if she enjoys the book we can read it nightly . But after once or two times of reading she will repeat after me the parts she remember . Eventually she can " read " the whole book , but I think she is just memorizing it . Question is how do I teach her to read instead of memorizing ?

Hi,
Continue reading to your child by pointing each word.
Show the child 2-3 word cards for recognition of words each week.Change and revise .
This was what i did. -

If you want to buy, I did see a couple of titles at Page one still when I went last Sunday. they are having 50% off until 19 Feb (that's when they close officially). Not sure if you want to go check it out. I saw the books at the Children's english books section. -

Everyone, thanks for the suggestions on where to find the Magic Tree House books.
I have discovered amongst the local bookstores, Kinokuniya carries the books.
But I have been buying online from Bookdepository.com. It’s much cheaper and has free shipping to Singapore.
I highly recommend the Magic Tree House books as a transition from picture books to chapter books. Thus far, my DS in P1 has been hooked on the books and finishes 1 book (average length of 70 pages) in one day.
The best part is the series introduces kids to wide ranging subject matters such as history of ancient Greece, ancient Rome, ancient China, ancient Japan etc. The non fiction titles provide the historical facts and background of the story in the fiction titles which widens the kids’ general knowledge.
I have always found our primary school kids are not exposed to a breadth of general knowledge beyond English, Maths and Science unlike Western school curriculum which places equal emphasis on World History, Art, Geography etc from a young age. So I find the Magic Tree House series is a very useful tool to expose kids to these things! -
I’ve bought several of the Magic Tree House Series and a year ago, I started to buy the Audio CDs that match the books and my kids ages 6-12 simply love it!! The CDs are read by the author herself and they bring to life the stories. My youngest especially developed excellent vocabulary from his daily listening to audio cds.
For young readers, Arnold Lobel is a fantastic author with many heartwarming and funny stories. We love his audio cds too. -
