For good car rental in Oz, should book from http://www.vroomvroomvroom.au Way way cheaper than booking the car from the rental companies direct. Have fun!

Any nice food/ restaurants to recommend near Goodearth Hotel?
-
I would recommend burswood car rentals as the price is quite competitive. We rented a people mover ie 8-seater car and the condition of the car is very new. We requested for a foc delivery and collection of car at the door step of our hotel. Very convenient and hassle free as well. Highly recommended!
Note: pls do check the car thoroughly for dents and scratches with the car rental personnel before you drive off to save all troubles. -

Hmm..there is a cafe just beside the barrack jetty where the captain cook cruises are. They serve very nice breakfast and the ambience is nice. I miss the poached eggs with bread set..yumm
For lunch or dinner, you can take the free cat bus to the city. We actually walked from goodearth hotel to the city as the weather is very cool and nice during end May). I like the Japanese food (very affordable) at TAKA jap cafe. The portion is huge and price is good. **Food in Perth is expensive**
You can google TAKA jap restaurant to find out the actual location. -
Thanks all.

Hi ftwmum,
... Do you think Dec will be terribly hot in the day? Understand that it is usually cool at nite in Aussie.
Any good car rental companies pls let me know too
:thankyou:
Not sure about the temperature in Dec. But heard there'll be flies....
As for car rental, again I was lazy, I compared btn Hertz and Avis only. Went for Avis in the end.

When we rented from Avis online, we could choose whether we wanted to rent a GPS or not. We did rent a GPS. But i personally find GPS not 100% accurate. There were a few times we followed the GPS' instructions, then realised we were going round and round.
Towards the last few days, we yanked it off and didn't use it, and relied on the Google map which we had on our smartphones (we bought a prepaid telco card from the airport) but battery-sucking. (note : for some reason, google map wasn't 100% reliable in the city - at times, the app couldnt locate our current location).
So if you wanna feel more secure, yes, GPS generally useful. But do have with you physical maps so at least you know the general direction you are heading, and the rough location of places. -

hello all,
we am planning a trip to Perth in end Oct. Would like to gather recommendations on where to stay. Hotels there are too expensive. We would be travelling with a 4yo child.
We are also planning farmstay at Margaret River, anyone stay at Sunflower Farm & Farmstay? Any feedback? How is it compared with MR Hideaway?
Thanks in advance! -
hi
You can try City Stay, i booked with Jetabout for 6 nights in Nov and it cost about S$1332. This is an apartment with full kitchen facility. The food in Perth is expensive so we intend to cook on certain meal. There is a swiming pool and playground in this appartment, you can also BBQ. If you are going end Oct, there may be lots of flies. Not too sure.
