Thermal pot
-
If your family likes soup, get the 5-litre pot and you can boil soup for 2 days in one pot. It saves time and soup gets more flavourful overnight. Of coz you need to put the remaining soup in the fridge and heat up the next day.
If you dun like to drink the same soup for 2 days then get the smaller ones.
If you get a big pot and only boil a little bit (less than 50% full), the heat will not be maintained for 8 hours. -
Hi,
Anyone own a thermal cooker from Sansui brand? Is it good? Thanks! -
How come after boiling my soup for 10 mins, I put back in thermos pot. My soup still not cooked after 4 hours? Is it because I must boil longer?
-
Minimum 20mins high heat for large pot of soup. And the meat must not be frozen / too cold, otherwise it will take longer.
-
But my soup qty is only one third of the pot because not many people in my house. No meat in my soup. its vegetables soup. Is it because my thermo pot is a lower quality brand?
-
The reason is becoz you need to fill at least more than half of the pot to maintain the heat. Too little soup in the pot is the culprit. Make sure you boil for at least 20mins. Not the brand I think. Endo, La Gourmet etc all work just as well as Tiger or Zojirushi. Just boil more and keep for the next day.

The little pot from thermos works really well with small quantities. It’s tiny and you can get it for $80 or so when there’s special offer. I use it to make stews and soup for two ppl…

which brand to buy is good enough to bring some hot noodles / rice lunch for a kindergarten child ? where to buy ? Thanks for recommending.
-
For one-pot dishes, Thermos and Tiger both make stainless steel wide mouthed food jars. Cost quite a bit but they retain heat quite well and fairly easy to clean

To bring to kindergarten, just buy the Endo brand. Isetan has the household sales (not sure if still on) and it was only S$12. Good enough to retain heat for >3 hours.
