Hi Ogima, when RV move the Jurong, by MRT + walk, the most is 45 mins. I stay in Woodlands and my girl in RV year 1. Although my girl was in SAP primary school, she never spoke Mandarin at home and very seldom spoke Mandarin in primary school. Initially she feels a bit odd to speak Mandarin in RV with some of her classmates but now she already get used to. There are English speaking classmates and Mandarin speaking ones in her class and CCA. She speaks more in Mandarin to her classmates and more in English to her CCA mates. She is liking Chinese more and more each day, partly also because she has a good Chinese teacher in RV.
BPGH is a very good school too. Although not IP, I see they are growing to be better and better all these years.
I see nowadays, kids can adapt and adjust themselves well in new enviornment. Amoung these 3 schools, which one your girl prefer ?
SCGS also not bad and distance is OK too.
St Margaret, if you dun mind Christian school.
If 260, exclude HMT, can get into NJC too. English speaking environment.
All the 3 schools have direct bus from Woodlands. About 45 mins to 1 hour. -
Here is a list of schools you might want to consider.
1)CHIJ St.Nicholas Girls’ School (COP: 249) (Location: Ang Mo Kio)
2)Methodist Girls’ School (COP:253) (Location: Dover)
3)Anderson Secondary School* (COP:248)(Location: Ang Mo Kio)
*Anderson Secondary School is not a pure express school. -

Ogima:
Fyi, to reach BPGH from the CCK MRT, you need to take a feeder bus no. 300. It's 2 bus stops from the interchange. It is actually possible to walk from the MRT station to BPGH, around 15mins to 20mins depending on speed. Hope that helps.
preferred will be BPGH or YTSS....the latter is within 1km from the MRT, not sure about the former though....from the SLA map, feeder bus seems necessary.
i would rather put her in a school where she feel comfortable with, academically & socially than to be in a stressed filled environment....sour grapes you can say  -

Hi, i do not know anything about yishun sec school but i have a few friends from bukit panjang government high. it is a good school. during my time, quite a number of kids from this school went to NJC too. It is a school with long history and I think the kids are well behaved too. that was 20 over years ago not so sure about now but can’t be too bad…

Sine you consider Yishun Town, why don’t consider Chung Cheng High which is near Khatib MRT.

Hello Parrents
I am staying in woodlands....need feeder bus to MRT.
I would predict my daughter's average score for this PSLE to be in the range of 240~260.
In selecting a suitable school, I have considered distance as one of the factors.....at least within walking distance from school to the nearest MRT station. Therefore, below are those that i have shortlisted.
RVH = situated in JurongWest, walking distance from BoonLay MRT. Will she able to cope since her grades barely make it to this IP SAP school ?
Though she is good in HMT, she'd always complain that she dislike the subject. She is more of a English speaking child.
BPGH = situated in CCK....though not within the region, I can still fetch her to school via KJE in the morning.
Yishun Town Sec = autonomous in 2010, walking distance from Yishun MRT....but the enviroment around the school makes me think that it is another neighourhood mediocre school. sorry.
Would like to hear some of your comments. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Hi Ogima,
We are staying in wooldlands too and estimated my daughter's aggregate same as your daughter.
Our choice as follows :
1. RV
2,3,4. BPGH or St Nicholas or Anderson (not decided yet)
5. Yishun Town
I would place Yishun town 5th or 6th bcos the COP used to be 220+ until they announced to be autonomous. Their O level results last year was ranked 6, chung cheng (yishun) ranked 7. BPGH, St Nic and Anderson all ranked 1.
