PSLE 2009 RESULTS!!
-
eventhorizon:
Hi,hi, i'm a student from Ai Tong and i just got back my psle results: 267, +3 for higher chinese. my dilemma is this: i've always had my sights set on rgs, but recently i've been asking around and my friends suggest i should go to nygh. family, however, prefers me to go to rgs.
i've recently picked up tennis, so i wish to practice over the hols and join that (or netball) as a cca next year. from what i've heard, both schools have a very rigorous selection process for sport ccas. also, i am better at english, but i'm interested in sciences, humanities and chinese warfare. my friends have applied for nygh, and those who are going to rgs are those that i don't really like.
i'd like to consider some aspects of both schools: the students' personalities, the cca selections, overall school spirit, atmosphere of the school itself and the teachers in respective schools. it would be extremely helpful if i can get some insight from pupils' experiences in either schools.
thanks!

Another ex Ai Tonger here! (Class of 2004)
Haha back then I scored 278 + 3, went to NYGH. Applied for RGS DSA but was turned down, accepted NYGH DSA offer later on. Had a great time in NYGH, no regrets at all!
I shared my NYGH experience and my thoughts on RGS vs NYGH here: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5831&start=75
Not going to hijack this thread so do read it if you're interested!
For any and all interested in all things NYGH, feel free to pm me! I'll be very happy to take any questions and hopefully convince prosepctive juniors (hiak hiak hiak) -

Wow! Actually the teachers and parents have also played important roles in PSLE, so they must be commended.today so touching in the hall. the principal make all the P6 student bow to the teacher, to the parent in the hall, and to their friends. hahaha.
the moment they take the bow to the teachers tear is running in my eye.hahaha

have you thought about going to DHS or CHS? Both are sap schools where you can use your HCL points. And since they are running IP, you don't have to worry about 'O' levels and which school to choose again etc. The only thing is I'm not so sure about their Tennis standard though...
