I usually down a nice cool glass of Redoxon. Works every time if it’s just dry and scratchy. But if it’s strep throat then no help.

Try warm sea salt water gargle. Must be warm water, room temperature water doesn’t have the same effect, not sure why.

Make sure she tilts her head back and gargle at the back of her mouth and hold the salt water there for a while. I make my kids do it three times, twice or thrice a day. It is the only thing that works for them, especially if there is also phlegm.

Not honey water, but Manuka Honey, in concentrated form, 1 table spoon, slowly swallow. The higher the UMF the better. After eating, do not eat or drink anything for at least 30min.

agree that a cold glass of Vit C usually works for me...but if too cold, cough usually follows. 😞

pi pa gao? have your kid tried? if not, may not be advisable as i am usually paranoid over first time use of any forms of remedy at such critical stage (a bad stomach is much worse than a sore throat.)

hope your girl get well soon! all the best!!!

I heard orange juice and other citrus fruits can lead to / worsen coughs. Better to give Vit C supplements and drink lots of warm water.... And have lots of rest.

Hope she gets better very soon.
