Not sure if there's increase in the number of GEP students for Dragon year. I only know that for my Ds year, the number of classes for each sch is as follows :

1) Nan Hua - 4 classes
2) Nangyang - 4 classes
3) RGS - 3 classes
4) Catholic High - 2 classes
5) Henry Park - 2 classes
6) St Hilda - 2 classes
7) ACI - 3 classes
😎 Tao Nan - 3 classes?? not sure
9) Rosyth - 2 classes ??? not sure either.
NYPS has been having 4 GEP classes for very many years liao
Yah, so I don't think there's been any catering for Dragon babies at all. Based on the list above, Nanhua has 4 but that's wrong, bec they actually only have 2 GEP classes. ACS and Tao Nan probably only have 2 classes too. Are there are any parents here from ACS and Tao Nan who can confirm this?

GEP classes are usually not full classes most years so in the case of Dragon year, they probably just need to top them up a bit.
If there's no increase in classes, then believe the sec sch will not do so as well.. so more competitive for the GEP Boys then. πŸ˜“

IF your info is correct, then Nanhua, ACS and Tao Nan all increased their classes by one.

No the no. of GEP in take has not increased in Nanhua. The 4 classes are called twining classes. Two years ago they implemented twining classes per MOE appeal to let GEP and non-GEP socialise more. In the twining classes they let the GEP and High ability non-GEP pupils(50% each) attend mix class for some subjects other than the main GEP subjects Eng, Math and Sc. They attended HCI togather and for SS the non-GEP pp also attend but are not graded. They also let these non-GEP pp participate in IRS projects. These only implement in Nanhua. For other GEP centre, was told the non-GEPpers do not attend SS and IRS with GEP per. When come to attend the 3 main GEP subj Eng, Math and Sc, they form only 2 classes, about 50 pupils. Read some where in the thread that this year they reduced the selected HA pupil to 1 class. Not sure if current NYPS GEP classes also have HA non-GEPers doing IRS and SS togather cos the same p who implemented this now in nyps.

My recent daily routine:

In the morning
1. Check email (for any news on interview)
2. Login to NYGH DSA site (to check whether the \"pending\" might miraculously change into \"CO\" without interview)
3. Login to KSP DSA forum to get latest news

Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 in the afternoon ...
fyi, NYGH doesn't always update their DSA site towards the later stages. My dd received her CO letter by mail and her status in the DSA site still listed \"pending\" for weeks after. πŸ˜„ I guess they figured if hard copy already sent out no need for site update.

RGPS has always had 3 GEP classes. They've had it for years. Nothing to do with Dragon babies.

So I see not many extra places.

I guess this has been the case on the first day when those babies are born. All the way to adulthood. So not easy to call themselves \"Millenium Dargon\"

Nevermind lah. RI offers the same pedagogy to all its students, GEP class or not.

The GEP quota has no change every year after P3 screening. About 500 rite?

it is 1% of the cohort. Take year 2011 P6. I think only about 450 GEPers. As for year 2011 P5 , there are about 550 GEPers.

Anyone can confirm?
