those confirmed offers I seen have never stated any minimum T-score. only requirement is to be eligible for the express stream, which is normally taken to be 200

I've seen one that states specifically \"minimum score for Express Stream 188\"

Actually Heard that they Offer DSA Sports to a Gal who Score PSLE 220 ....
My daughter's classmate went to Cedar's with a score of 196 (The girl showed me her PSLE results sip), under Track.

30 points away from cop is way too much for a successful dsa applicant to handle.

Imagine have to juggle cca, schoolwork, cip in the midst of many many students above him/her.

Parents encouraging their kids to dsa to such schools are asking for troubles even if their kids are dam determined.

A- level is the most difficult national exam to handle.
That's why I said parents must be mindful of which schools they send their DSA Sports kids to. BUT a kid who doesn't perform well at PSLE can do well at secondary school. A friend's son who DSA'd into one of the top schools through sports is doing very well there now, good enough to be posted to one of the top classes. Parents and kids have to enter the schools with their eyes open. Just as some will do well, there are others who who flounder.
Well, is up to you... but i am not lying cos i heard that a few of the girls were very upset and cried cos they were only informed of the 246 cut off at a later date..

Unless it is stated clearly in the Letter of Offer, there is no way the school can just simply INFORM them later. So maybe it was stated, but the girls didn't notice it or it was worded in a way that the girls(and their parents) didn't understand.

For that, I actually emailed the school and had them confirm in writing (email is fine too, but as long as it is written by the school).

Personally feels that the school has done parents and their kids a favor by rescinding their offers. Otherwise, many of these girls will be struggling to keep up.

What's the point of winning honours for the school and later being rejected by local unis to pursue their desired courses?
First of all, there's no evidence that the school rescinded their offer. As far as I know, the DSA offers will state that the CO is dependent on the child qualifying for an express course, which in the top schools normally means 200. I also have friends whose kids DSA'd into RGS through sports and their T-scores were not above 246.

Point of discussion now is not in whether the kids can cope. But the school offered, how can it be rescinded? Unless the applicant did not meet terms stated in offer.
I agree, especially as there's no evidence of an offer actually being rescinded.

Yeah, In Fact ALL the Gals who R invited to the RGS \"Tea session with P\" R \"Talent-Spotted\" During the Inter-sch Sports Meet. The RGS T in charge actually sat thru the Competition Meet and Hand out invitation to Potential and Medal Winners, either thru the T or to the Supporting Parents present ....

So it pays to be on the Inter-Sch competition Team, esp if U got very good chance of winning a medal .... If U intend to go for DSA-Sports Route ....

And I Doubt Very Much that at the time of handing out the invitation, the T knows the Academic results of the students ....
It's up to the Students / Parents to assess if the Child can suit the Heavy Academic-cum-Sports Commitment of the sch they wish to DSA to ....
              😉 😉

well, i am not trying to sabo anyone by saying got DSAed and subsequently got rejected by the DSA school.

It is always good to know whether there is the 'real' cut off from the school and not just the cut off based on going to express which is T-score of 200. As for me i will seek clarification from the school and obtain a BLACK AND White so there won't be any dispute later on....

Just my 2 cents worth of comments. :dancing:

                  it is good to clarify

the collective experience of parents in this forum point to the confirmation of the fact as per MOE policy on DSA : as long as the candidates meet the entry requirement for the course of study admitted to by the school via DSA.

Agree, Best to Clarify if CO is not Specific before acceptance.

The para which you have quoted is very ambiguous... they mean nothing in term of COP...

Why is that so??? Cos ministry/sch has to protect themselves... so they can flap like loti planta.

                      :boogie:
