Is the intake still 200 this year?

I think what they meant was around 50% of those who went for round two.

We did not receive any letter today. All the best to you ngbrdad and all waiting for NJC news.

        4A* can't be 244 only.
        hi ngbrdad,

my error, I wanted to say for a student getting 3A* and 1 A, he can get a Tscore ranging from around 244 to 262. ( as jtoh has pointed out , thanks jtoh )

But I would like to add, 4 A* can also get below 250 Tscore.

        http://www.funlearning.com.sg/resources/other%20pdf/Scoring.pdf

sample of score with almost 4 A* and Tscore below 250 ( 1 more mark for English and John would have 4 A* and Tscore still below 250

May I know what is \"Supplementary Intake\" with RI & HCI\". Is it a test or an application process? Or is it an appeal process and has to depend on the PSLE T-Score.

My DS scored 77.x% for SA1. Rejected from RI and HCI. Do you think my DS can go for the \"Supplementary Intrake\"

            hi BlurDad,

The supplementary intake is for those who are already assigned to other schools ( usually via DSA ) after the PSLE results / DSA postings. Normally, the schools will already have their indicative cut-off T score as reference ( I think ). So if your children have scored more than that score, you can apply for it, even though already posted to another confirmed DSA school. It doesn't apply to GEP only, but to all students who did quite well in PSLE, but were not given COs during DSA.
I think vk2010 DS did the same last year ( posted to HCI, but applied to RI at supplementary intake ).

last year's RI supplementary intake info as below, just for reference, dates are all last year. HCI was similar timing also.

The most important thing is that the children all work hard for their PSLE. DSA is just an alternative shortcut, designed mainly for GEPpers and sports/talent domains kids.

            Thank you for your information.

Am I right to say that this is mainly for those students who are accpected CO from other school and obtian PSLE T-Socre above the COP and want to appeal to RI/HCI? That mean the students do not have any S1 Posting Form, so that they have to go through such \"appeal\" process to have a 2nd chance to get admitted to RI/HCI?

            THank you ocne again.

Wah, that means they must have given out ALOT of CO??? Or maybe they feel that it'd be better for them to take in students under S1 posting. ;(

In a way I feel it is a good thing. The matter will be closed. No need to wait for PSLE result day and find that the WL has indeed converted to CO but your child has got a T score of 265+ and then you begin the apeal process. 😓 Lot of headache saved. Just focus on PSLE, do your best and leave the rest to GOD.

Note, 265+ was just an example, not what I expect from my DS. I keep my expectations realistic. :imcool: When I do want him to perform to his potential, I would not be tolerant to underperformance due to laziness/carelessness :spank:

Indicatively, my DS batch from his school last year had about 49 GEPpers.
                Group A - 270 and above - 12 students from GEP ( 1 from mainstream )
                Group B - 260 and above - btw 30 to 35 ?
                Group C - 259 or below - about 3 from GEP
( lowest was about 247 or 250, cant remember )

think last yr's GEP lowest scorer was around 237~238 for the whole cohort.

That's rather low. Is this based on hearsay or confirmed?

                  yes BlurDad,

you just need to go pick up the form from Admin Office anytime the day after PSLE results out. I think it is meant for the schools to re-evaluate those they turned down earlier but who scored well in PSLE. They also kiasu, dont want to let any fish go through their nets.

I think there was a top PSLE student before, who was rejected by RI, got posted to HCI via DSA. With his PSLE score, he went back to RI to apply, and they readily accept him with open arms.

That is why I said, the PSLE is still the best tool for the children to aim to do well, then naturally they can go to their dream school.

Good luck to yr DS ! tell him the dream is not over, work hard and he can achieve his school of his choice, whichever it may be. 😄

There is one thing I'd like to know though. Do GEP students fair badly in PSLE? What is the avg T Score of a GEP class?
Maybe some parents of Gep students who have already finished PSLE can throw some light on it? This can help ease a lot of anxiety of those parents who do not yet have a CO.

                    Tisha,

like Nebbermind said, it's not that they do badly, but high expectations from them, so some buckle under pressure, I guess. This is normal everywhere.

Indicatively, my DS batch from his school last year had about 49 GEPpers.
                    Group A - 270 and above - 12 students from GEP ( 1 from mainstream )

But some take their foot off the pedal after CO from their dream school, so cannot say for sure. But last year, those from GEP in DS batch were all excellent students, good attitude, diligent, hardworking, cooperative, etc. So he was fortunate that he had good peer pressure, because he is the lazy type ( who studies for his exams 4-5 days before the paper ).
Good luck to all taking PSLE this year.

                    Thanks Strparent.
From your post we can see that most do very well. So parents need to believe in their children and positively encourage them. The GEP kids don't seem to be having a easy time at school, what with their buddies flaunting 2/3 COs.
So it is now really upto the parents to be supportive without putting undue pressure. Time for some tender loving care.
Good Luck to all Kiddos for the PSLE 2011.

                      as for those who think 4 A* will reap you 260, it is not necessarily true. I have seen a student get 4 A* ( maybe 4 low A* ) and his Tscore was around 244, and another student 3 A* with 1 A, with a Tscore of 262 ( 3 high A* and 1 high A ).

                      Hi Strparent,

I too know of a student who had 3A* and 1A who scored high 260. And another who had 4A* and scored 249. It all depends on whether they had high or low A* and A.

Lowest marks for A* is 91/100 so a person who gets 4 A*s can't be scoring t-score 244 only. However, it is possible for a person who gets 4 low A*s to have a lower t-score than someone who gets 3 high A*s & 1 high A.

Shd be accurate. but probably not many scoring lower than 250.

but that low tscore shd not be surprising as there will always be GEP students who donch do well in the languages.
