MandyMummy:
Thanks Tinkerbelle for your suggestion and info. I totally forgot about NTUC. Will check it out.
You are welcome, MandyMummy
Hi MandyMummy,Tinkerbelle:
Hi, phtthp, do you know which organization I can give them to?
Thanks.
NTUC collects textbooks for the needy every year. Maybe you can consider donating to them.
This article is outdated but will give you an idea of what NTUC does with the textbooks.

May I know any parent whose DS is on WL from HCI receive email to attend Parents’ Symposium on 22/10?
-
I wrote an email to SOTA to give up DD's CO but was told to do so by not putting SOTA as our choice when submitting the form online on 24 Oct.
My personal opinion is that schools which have already given letters with COs to the kids are not likely to risk giving away these places to those on WL, in case there is a change of mind. That is, to inform those on WL in black and white that theirs is now a confirmed offer based on the number of students with CO who have indicated that they are giving up their places.
In NYGH, even though the Principal encouraged those who want to give up their offer to write in, I don't think anyone on WL has her WL converted to a CO. However, the Principal did inform those on WL that as long as they put NYGH as first choice, they are very likely to get in via DSA. I suppose the Principal can say that as she knew roughly how many girls are likely to reject the COs.
So I suppose by informing the school(s) of your intention to reject the CO(s), at best, helps the school management to better manage the expectation of those on WL, but not likely to result in actual conversion of CO to WL, prior to the exercise period.Blur Dad:
We did. Give others a chance mah. No point holding on to so many when our minds are already set on RI.keroppi:
Not sure any parent or student has actually inform ACSI that they want to reject their CO?
How about other schools? Has any parent or student inform those schools that they have awarded CO/WL that they are not going to take up the offer?
Cheers
Hi keroppi
Thank you for replying to this post and thank you for being considerate. I thought my post/questions are being ignored.
May I know which school’s CO did you rejected?
Anyone else reject their COs? Especially those with two, three or four COs.
Come on guys, do something please.
I guess who cares about DSA now. More are interested in the post PSLE activities.....
-

Hi sunflowermum,
U received the letter from HCI ? -

Hi TREX8. Thanks for sharing. Just to add, I believe there's a deadline by which schools must give MOE their final list of COs and WLs in order for MOE to process the DSA forms. So if the schools are informed before the deadline of students who wish to give up their COs, they can (if they choose to) upgrade the WLs to COs. There were schools in the past who have written to confirm changing WLs to COs in September so that could be how they do it.I wrote an email to SOTA to give up DD's CO but was told to do so by not putting SOTA as our choice when submitting the form online on 24 Oct.

This is what I understand from ACSI DSA talk. ACSI P & VP mentioned that they will convert those WL to CO when there are vacancies. -

How about you call the school direct and ask ? Just tell them that you understand some parent have already inform them that they are not taking the offer, so how is you son chance of getting in.
They might not tell you exactly but at least can indicate how high is the chances of getting a CO...understand your anxiety...just a suggestion

I salute you! :salute: You are a kind soul.
We did. Give others a chance mah. No point holding on to so many when our minds are already set on RI. -
Talking about WL, RI should have a lot of WL this year.
Any update from them ? -

Yes we received an email. I should think this is sent to all on WL. Are there exceptions ?
