if still need to compete, means no guarantee that even if child meets minimum COP entry ....can go in.

think when you appeal, u r still competing with other appellants who may have higher t-score. Ya?

The appeal phase is totally at their discretion, so no guarantees whatsoever.

If I remember correctly last year, some appeal cases to RI had Tscore btw 263 to 265, also kena rejected. If you are 270 and above, they will rope you in fast fast. Those GEP and were on their DSA WL also stand better chance, imho.

That's why I said, just work hard for the PSLE , score well and apply via S1 posting. Those who are even 1 point above the schs respective COP during S1 posting will definitely get in.

which school doesn't want to take in cream of the top, the best of the best candidates ? now i can fully understand why so many applicants rushing for DSA exercise.

if that is the case, ie. if school only wants take in the top calibre candidates, then the school might as well wait for all PSLE results to be announced & collated, then at one shot key / punch in all the applicants' grades into the school computer system, sort out in descending sequence the T score of applicants (sort from high to low). Then based on the limited vacancies left from DSA CO / WL offered, the school will know who to offer to.

if this is the case, appeal also no use ...
        phtthp,

precisely it is because they want the creme of the crop, hence they have this SI phase. It is mainly to recapture all those high calibre scorers that they missed out during the DSA process, especially those who already posted to their competitor schs during DSA. It is like a backup to net those they did not give CO, but other schs did give out.

Supp. Intake phase is mainly for DSA students who did not get posted there, and were posted elsewhere, ard Nov 22 onwards. They just want to lure them back in.
secondly, it is also open for those posted to other sch during S1 posting after making their choices, and then either regret or change their mind - these will be around Dec 21 de. But your Tscore better be high for this option.Too much work for them to get more of the same. Therefore make your S1 posting choices carefully to save the hassle.

He accepted the CO. But who knows, he scored 271 for PSLE. His parents immediately appeal to RI & he was accepted by RI.

Personally, I feel u will stand a better chance when u appeal if you have exceptional performance in sports, performing arts, leadership, apple apps programmer, writers etc. That will make you stand out among all the high scores coz they can get top scorers easily via S1 but if they enrol such students, it will ‘enhant’ the school in other areas.

                Yukilei, 🆒

thats what I meant - this Supplementary Intake ( appeal ) works for the schs as effective as the kids. They are just being kiasu also. To me, RI is the most kiasu sch I know. :siam:

sounded like he got a call from RI the very next day, saying, \"lai lai lai ........\"

Thks strparent. To summarise, if DSA no CO/WL or WL not converted to CO, appeal immediately after PSLE result if result is > COP. Then wait. If no response by S1 posting exercise, apply thru S1 posting exercise.

Bingo yukilei!.. Hope Interested understand by now too... 😂

                        Hi vlim,

Wow! many ball flying around...i'm trying to catch lor. I just hope my ds got high t-score then no problem whether to appeal or just apply s1 then sit n wait.

Different school different appeal procedure so when i see ds t-score on 24 Nov i will know how to chiong or sit and wait.

RI chiong immd if t-score just hit...cos you won't know the actual t-score scaly miss by 1 mark :faint:

HCI don't need to chiong - they don't entertain me cos i dun have other CO and appeal only after S1 posting...
