Apply for 2-3. 4 is too many.ngbrdad:
Helping my DS to choose schools for DSA.
So most will apply for around 3 to 4 schools is it ?
For a slightly above average GEP student, how to choose ?
We are thinking about NUSH, RI and another 2 out of HCI, NJC or ACSI.
Since you've already identified NUSH and RI as your top two choices, apply for those 2. Of the remaining, just choose one. Of HCI, NJC and ACSI, ask him and yourself honestly, which would your ds be happy to attend if given the DSA CO? Do not take it as a second choice that you will consider appealing out of if your PSLE score is good enough to get into RI (in the event you don't get RI). If you don't think you'll be happy attending HCI, NJC or ACSI, don't apply for their DSA. It'll give you a headache later on.

That's the type of post i like. If prepare to appear out of NJC, HCI or ACSI, might as well don't apply and just stick to RI. Too many parents wasting time and resources going round the system. -
Just heard a friend dd is going nanyang camp this june.anyone going too?

jtoh:
Quite a number of GEP boys from ACSI went over to RI.
Hi jtoh, can you clarify... the boys who \"went over to RI\"... are they ACS(Primary/Junior) or ACS(I) boys?
If they are ACS(I) boys, which year were they in when they switched ? -
Mwahahaha XD:
P5 SA2 84%, P6 SA1 81.5%, how about this result?stronger:

Hi,
I’ve read somewhere that if GEP student score below average of 80%, he will have to sit for GAT test for RI DSA. Is it also the same for HCI? If he did not pass the GAT test, can he still proceed to interview? Basically, is it possible for GEP student to apply RI & HCI for normal IP prog? For HCI, if manage to get > 80%, what’s the 2nd stage? -

I heard from HCI Parent Symposium that iSpark's mainstreamers are purely via DSA, which means that high PSLE scorers who didn't go for HCI DSA will not be eligible for iSpark.
RI has 7 classes for the GEP boys, approx 7 x 25 = 175, class size 30, the other 4 or 5 are mainstream high scorersngbrdad:
Wah RI takes in so many GEP ?
More than half of the GEP boys cohort per year.
HCI iSpark consortium has about 80 ~ 90 GEP boys, so in total RI + HCI has about +/- 250 GEP boys,
For the chosen 4 or 5 mainstream high scorers in RI, are they given the opportunity to choose GEP/Con't with Mainstream? How do they fare compared to those who are already in the GEP since pri 4?
