My understanding as well is that RadioIodine is administered to \"remove\" the thyroid gland so to speak. Think of it as being a nuclear victim. This simple procedure is controlled & can only be performed at I think SGH? Talk to your docs again then. Take care.

my dad took radioactive iodine to lower his high index...but it didn't seem to work.

hi grownupbaby, i wish you a speedy recovery after the op...in the meantime, the doctor will know what's best. take care.

Hw come the radioiodine did not work fr ur father? Did he take another dose? Could it be the first dosage was too low?

that dose didn't work. he didn't go for another one.
he went back to the endocrinologist. strange thing is, after his heart blockage has been cleared, his t4 or tsh is now in the red and has to take thyroxine supplement. at the next appointment to see the heart doctor, i will ask him why a person with hyperthyroid would become hypothyroid?

Whenever she eats dairy or others, she will have diarrhea and hives . Is good that your dd only need to avoid seaweed. I think she needs to be gluten free and vegan 😞

                      I also have Grave’s Disease.

I do not have issues with dairy products, fortunately.

My condition is somehow stabilised, can eat seafood once a week.

I still steer clear of seaweed.

                        Hi Jennifer,
Glad that you condition has stabilised.
Did you follow any special diet apart from avoiding seaweed?
