Lol....I think my boy will be able to identify with the first cartoon strip. That is why whenever I ask him how the paper was, he would always say \"ok lor\" :frustrated:

I especially like your Discussion during Supper. So wickedly funny. πŸ˜„

Your first comic about the question reminds me of my question to my DD. She's only in P1 but she has \"taught\" me to not ask. Normally, she loves to share about school and will insist I ask her many questions so that she can tell me all about it. However, when I ask her about her papers, her answers will be, \"Like that lor\" or \"How I know?\", before frowning and grumbling and indicating that I should change the subject immediately or else....

Haha Chillycrab! :rotflmao: You have a real future as an artist! You should go out and publish a book, entitled \"PSLE, should you really be worried about it?\" or something like that, and draw more of these! You could earn a lot of money. Many people would buy it for stress relief! You could make one every year after PSLE! πŸ˜„

              Chillycrab,

I didn't know you drew the comic strips. You are so very talented! My ds1 at P2 and some of his classmates like to draw comic strips too. They will share their work in school and have a good laugh, a smart and talented boy even photostat his comic strips and let my son (his fan) has a copy. Did you have any advice for these young kids on what to read so as to improve?

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: Your comic strips should be published in The Straits Times. It's time to support our local talent. I'm also guilty asking the 'dreaded' question.

I am so flattered by you guys... it is very encouraging. Thanks!

I think it is a great idea, not so much of earning a lot of money, but of sharing a lighter side of the stressful examinations our kids are going through every year. I don't think there are enough comics now to publish a book, but that is not a big problem, I can continue to draw.

The issue is how to go about to publish a book. I have no idea at all how to do this:
                  - where/how to find a publisher? are they willing to help or do I have to convince/beg them?
                  - do I need to come out with my own $ to publish/print the books?
                  - and how about distribution?
                  - I guess some form of promotion of the book is needed too right?

Any fellow parents out there has experience in this area? Thanks.

By the way, chillycrab, did you draw your own avatar? (I only just realised that it’s a crab holding a chilli.)

Hi Picolo... I really dun know how to advise on this. I have no formal training on drawing myself. I just go ahead and draw.

As you can see, japanese manga has a strong influence on my style of drawing. I used to read a lot of manga; Dragonball, City Hunter, etc. If the kids are into drawing, just ask them to go ahead and draw. Just let go and use the force, and create their own style.

Like everything else; be it maths, tennis or playing computer games... it will need a lot of practice. These funnies I've drawn here are my initial attempts... I'm still practising. πŸ™‚
