      Hi,

My DD is in Sec 2 and I need advice whether Pure History or Pure Geo is a better Choice.
She is very confused and hope to hear more from others.

I don't think there is such thing as better choice. Its more purely on where the interest lies in.

Both my children don't like Geog n much prefer History. However I heard that its easier to score in Geog than History. Don't know if its true or not.

No ...it's not true that it's easier to score in Geog than in Hist in upper sec levels...
I would say Both are equally hard to score....( at least in gal's sch)
Geog n Hist results are kinda of roller coaster, depending on which terms' results.... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Double sciences ( Chem and Phy ) is enough to be a doctor right?

If you want to be a doctor or do any life science related works, it is better to do Pure Chem and Pure Bio.

        Ok thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

I extract the following from MOE website

A pass in the Higher Mother Tongue 'O' Level Examination constitutes the fulfilment of the Mother Tongue requirement in Singapore, whereas Normal Mother Tongue Students will have to go through one more year of study in their Mother Tongue after their 'O' Levels to take the 'A' Level H1 Mother Tongue Examinations and fulfil the MOE's requirement. A foreign language, either French, German, or Japanese, can be taken in addition to the mother tongue or can replace it. This is especially popular with students who are struggling with their mother tongues, expatriates, or students returning from abroad. Non-Chinese students may also study Chinese and non-Malay students Malay as a third language. This programme is known as CSP (Chinese Special Programme) and MSP (Malay Special Programme).

          My questions are
          1) if someone take foreign language for substitute mother tongue, they have to continue to \"A\" level?(sorry for the silly qn)
          2) foreign language is not eligible for everyone, right?

Think by merit, based on results.

Depends on the school. Certain schools have certain criteria.

Only the top 10% of the PSLE cohort could opt for foreign language.
