I thought the sec 2 streaming results will be released on 2/11...but now it is not confirmed.

can't wait to get the results and buy the books so as to have a peace of mind. most probably she will be in the class with POA and F&N (food and nutrition). 🙏

Can you tell me which subjects do students do well generally and the paper is less difficult for Pure Humanities and SS ?nationwide
        ...
The subject that the student is interested in, is the one that he / she will do well generally. The subject that he /she is least interested in, will be the most difficult paper, regardless of what was actually being tested.

That said, Literature is generally tougher for Singapore students because of our system 'structural' challenges and lower level of maturity / life experiences for many of them to appreciate those text.

sec 2 streaming result will be released tomorrow.

I only need to know if she will be allocated to a class taking POA and food & nutrition.

so your dd will take both poa and F&N
              or either
Eng, 2 Maths, combined Humanities, POA, F&N, Combined Sci (?)

she cannot do A math...she flunked E math. so likely it will be English, combined science, ss/geography, POA and F&N.

                  Janet,

If your daughter doesn’t like nursing, is all right, but make sure she has some idea what she intend to study at Polytechnic & then ensure she has the entry subject requirements, for the Diploma course she interested in. Bring her to the Polytechnic Open house next year, 2019.

POA can provide her a good foundation, to enter Accountancy.
Accountancy course in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, is good.

It's best to gear to her strengths and interests, though. Even though she's young, she should have an idea whether she would like something that deals with words, or numbers, or caring, or social interaction...

I think she's not strong in Maths? Which probably means she isn't so good at numbers? My father and I had a huge fight when I was choosing courses because he wanted me to put Accountancy as my 2nd choice - but I really don't deal well with numbers! His argument was that it would a lead to a \"good\" job, without considering my personal skills and interests. I've never forgotten how I felt then, I would hate any other child to go through that.

POA could be something she may be interested in...so I'm glad her school has this option.
for now, we are appealing to take geography. she is given literature - something she doesn't like.
on the whole, I'm very relieved and happy she is allocated to the class.
I am praying hard she will mature and be more responsible for her studies next year.

appeal results out - she will be taking geography instead of literature. the former is fully packed with 40+ students (don't know if her info is accurate). I'm hands off POA, math, science and physical component of geography :siam:

my girl would have to take responsibility for her food and nutrition and general revision.
