      Hi,

Pls assist in my son P5 questions:

      1. Chester has a number of green, purple and yellow buttons in the ratio 1:3:9. When he had given away 10 purple buttons, 1/6 of the remaining buttons were purple buttons. How many yellow buttons were there in the box?

      2. Adam and Raihan had $200 and $500 respectively. After each of them bought the same laptop, they were left with money in the ratio 1:3. How much did the laptop cost.

      3. Samuel and Elvis have some marbles. Samuel has 1 1/3 times as many marbles as Elvis. How many marbles do the boys have altogether if Samuel has 48 marbles.

      4. The pupils of Primary 5E were asked to wrap some presents for a CIP project. They were given 4 days to complete the project and they planned the following schedule:

1st day: 1/5 of the total number
2nd day: 10 more presents than the 1st day
3rd day: 12 more presents than the 2nd day
      4th day: 20 presents
How many presents did the class wrap?

      Thanks in advance!

                TIA
                (a) 10-1 = 9 gaps in between Hence 9x 10 = 90m

                (b) 10-5 = 5 gaps in between. Hence 5x10 = 50m
                for every 10th-20th, 20th-30th, 30th-40th, 40th-50th trees, they are 10gaps each so 10x10m apart for each, so is 100m x 4 = 400m

                Hence you get 400+50 = 450m.

                What answer did you get?
