Hi,Hi,
Being a first time JC parent, I need advice.
Assuming the posting is release on 1st Feb, we need to report to school on 2nd Feb and my questions are :
* Do we need to follow our dc?
* Are we expected to purchase the books and uniform on the day itself?
* Do they start school the following week?
* How much are we advised to bring? - for uniform and books?
* Any suggestions on the number of set of uniform & PE attire that we need to purchase ?
* Are JCs stringent on school shoes/ socks so far?
We hv only gone to my son’s jc once for a principal-parents’ mtg in J1. Left him to handle everything on his own, including collecting his results : )
He bought 2 sets of uniform and PE bef official reportg to JC. Bought the rest when he needed more. He didn’t buy any textbooks for JC if I recall. This is pre-university so textbooks are for reference only just like university.
For shoes/socks, think you will hv to check with his jc. My two older kids wore track shoes and socks in all kinds of patterns and colours there. The school’s only requirement is that they must be covered and laced shoes -

Yes, ds still goes to school but there isn't any real lesson going on yet. Good to hear that pw is smooth sailing for your ds.Hi Song22, I thought IP students still go to school as usual while waiting for JAE students to come in?
If I remember correctly what DS told me, PW shld end by mid or early Nov when A level exams start. But no worries, I am sure your DS can handle it well. I was worried for my DS when he was in the midst of it but luckily, he got very co operative group members n PW didn’t take up much of his time.
Surprisingly, PW was his least concern.

Depending on the JCs, some JCs require their students to report in their secondary school PE attire or secondary school uniform, so don't be too quick to dispose them. -
