I only have 1 child. He is sec 1 now
. I am following this thread because it is easier for me to read each day as and when there are new posts. When he was in P6 I had to read thousands of pages so it is very time consuming :gloomy:
Actually there is no need to follow JC thread.
I think you shld focus on his Sec School subjects for next year's streaming. -

Hi Augmum
Ngl2010, u report here so early...
This thread will not move by many pages in a short time... as there are very few regular parents with JC kids...
True... true... But I'd better be prepared than scrambled to read many many pages 3 years from now or regret that DS selects wrong subjects
I have a friend who is so detached of what her children are doing. One of her children chose subject selection that are easy to score well but after A level the mother found out that the child is not eligible to apply to a lot of university courses. Finally the child got into an unpopular course. The child is not happy about the course. The parents are unhappy too. I don't want to be in her position so I want to know early and be able to advise the best path for my son. -

I find that it is easier to plan ahead then work backwards -

I feel that we have more time to concentrate on our only child

:hi5: I made one mistake before. I didn't do a lot of research on DS's primary school before I registered him there. After I got to know about KSP forum, sometimes I regretted that I didn't choose his primary school carefully. All schools are good but some are gooder. DS is given a chance now so I don't want to waste his chance

Need not to worry too much at this stage...
Nearer to the time, yr son's sch will hv talks for parents abt the subj combination ....
And shall be given a list of info of courses avail in local Unis...and the subject prerequisites for diff courses...
One step at a time...dont add unnecessary stress....
