I find GP and econs more challenging because they were not taught during their secondary school.

I think all A level subjects are tough. Unfortunately most of the time, the students do not understand what their lecturers are talking about. One of my students told me that ‘’ JC life is no life" which I beg to differ. In fact, his school lecturer actually kept propagating this wrong concept into his mind. The lecturer stated that it is very ‘‘normal’’ to fall asleep during lectures and catch only 3-4 hrs of sleep per night. In fact, the lecturer claimed that it is a luxury to have 6 hours of sleep per night. I am shocked to hear that.

I told my student to stop ‘heeding that teacher’s ill advice’. I think it ultimately boils down to your time management skills. If you believe in that lecturer’s words, it will become a self-fulfilling prophesy. The student will grow up to believe that it is "normal" to work till midnight when he goes to the work force.

I think we should just enjoy learning and let the results take care of themselves.

Just my two cents worth of opinion.

        DT

Time flies so fast and already half of 2014 has passed.

DD just mentioned that Promo exams are coming up in 10 weeks time. PW n SPA are also end of the year rite?

I feel so stressed just by hearing this on top of my DS's Chinese O level papers year end.

              :scared:

Yes Zbear ...agree with Zeemimi...u must learn to relax more regarding kids' academics...
They are old enough to be on their own...hv their own planning of schedule...
I am totally hands off regarding her studies....
Only sometimes nag nag at her if i see her waste time on unimportant stuff... :slapshead:
Or spend too much time on PW...

One impt thing i still need to do now is ...
Whenever the school issues impt letters or CT / Exam timetables....
I will need to make a copy of them ...as very likely she will misplace it... :faint:
If not, she will have to spend lots of time digging thru mountains of her notes.... 😉

Actually, I do not get involved in my DD's school life. She is very much on her own - she makes her own decisions. I only listen to her ranting when she is under stress. But hearing her ranting already made me stressed.

Guess, mums are like that or maybe I am an exceptional mum 😉

DS, on the other hand, is a challenge. Needs to be pushed n pushed, nag n nag - so tiring.
