I don't think it's necessary. If the issue is content then reading and researching copiously would help. And also how to present the arguments. I believe the school GP teachers should be able to guide in this process.
Some GP teachers are just hopeless. As good as not having any teachers at all.Jennifer:
GP is useful. It hones the students' critical thinking and writing abilities.
Does one need tuition for GP?
I see elder boy's GP essay always not up to the teacher's expectation in terms of content, though the teacher commended his writing skills. -

I agree with jtoh. Don't think tuition is necessary since the teacher has commended on his writing skills; it shows that he's not that bad. Just work on the weak areas.jtoh:

Actually I think GP is very hard to "teach".
The teacher can only guide in the writing style and presentation of arguments.
The student still needs to develop a questioning and analytical mind on his own.
It helps to have a wide range of interest, eg. in the subject of Philosophy. Knowing some good quotations from the big names in Art, Science & Literature might be very useful too. -

Prelim preps are underway. Is everyone’s JC having their prelims at the end of this month? How time flies.

I read up on next-genn.blogspot.com, seems to be quite good.
You may also want to try School of Thought (tuition centre). Check this out:

Also check out their GP magazines - 'Broader Perspectives'. Very useful and informative.
Has anyone tried this plc? Any feedback? Thanks...
