Bentan:
2) Almost all cases of successful appeal are based on CCA.
Hi, Bentan.
Please share the rationale behind \"almost all cases of successful appeal are based on CCA\".
I am in the process of preparing an appeal for my boy (Confirmed DSA offer at ACS but does not want to go to ACS :stupid: ) The standard appeal form from the school we have decided to appeal at has this line \"Have you attained an outstanding achievement in any CCA? Please list your achievement in the blanks provided\".
My boy did not participate actively in any competitive CCA. I think I should leave this line blank but can I submit a letter to highlight his other strengths? For example, the FT selected my boy to tell the Little Red Dot & Racial Harmony story to the lower primary pupils in the sch hall.
Many thanks in advance for your advice. -
thanks, Bentan. Very good adv… I must try harder to find out more abt the school.

Just Mama:
thanks, millan ... Her t-score was pulled down by her MT which is actually her strongest subject. This has been her target since the beginning of the year and i believe she can do well and enjoy school life there. just wish we know how to present a strong case to the school.
My daughter got A* for EMS but A for Chinese, got 253. Cannot make the grade for NJCI think for secondary schools, MT is de-emphasised, so she should be able to do well in NJC, if she can get in. My daughter got good results for the NewSouthWales exams, so I am going to show the principal or v-principal. I thought appeal process starts after 22 December? Can start now meh? will someone please share with me how to do appeal?

I have spoken to the admin staff at NJC last Thur and was told the appeal process starts only on 23 Dec in NJC. Maybe you can approach them and see if they have changed their minds.Just Mama:

Hi there,
Just to share. Appeal will start either on 22 or 23Dec 09. It depends on the school. My son did not do that well, so, i have spoken to 4 - 5 schools’ principal on appeal. Reason -> it is only this time that there will be movements and the school will look at who appeal and select those they want.
While most school will take in appeal based on CCA, a few based on result. One principal that i spoke to told him told me his selection is based on result, and of course, if the child has leadership quality, it may help. The other one said he wants basketballer and badminton player, if my child has that he will take him despite of aggregate. Yet another principal said it will not make sense if the selection is based on result, he wants to see what the child has and whether the child can give them something extra.
Just to take note, most of the school will accept appeal only if you put them in the first choice, however there may be exception. So, the best thing is to dig out all the credentials that your child has and appoach the school to understand their criteria of accepting appeal cases. From there, you can roughly gauge whether the chance is high or not. -
Appeal => Would the principal consider if father was the old boy at the sec sch?

How many schools can we appeal at? The admin staff at Hwa Chong told me 1 appeal only. Is she correct?Hi there,

Would like to share with the parents with younger kids, choosing school by
1) dsa – required few years effort on certain gifted talent
2) psle result – 5 years consistent hardwork + exam luck
You really need to discover the talent in your kid as young as possible. most important is natural and they enjoy.
If you miss those, when you need to apeal after psle result, still back to the square, most of the transfer of school is based on the TALENT in your kid. -
Hi, can anyone give me some hints on how to appeal if my son’s mark is not too far away from COP?
-
my daughter got 257 for psle last yr,missed the cop by 2m
she is currently in scgs now and is it possible for her to appeal to enter njc in sec 2?
