Not true. Most of students below the COP and making it to the schools are doing very well. It all depends on your attitude.jktron:
Hi, can anyone give me some hints on how to appeal if my son's mark is not too far away from COP?
IF he has had a good record of consistently high scores for previous years, photocopy/bring original for the appeal [interview] also prepare answers to typical Qns like \"What contribution will u be able to make to the school?\" etc. Also photocopy/ bring original certificates to competitions [regardless of genre].
(NOTE: My advice is do not appeal as even if yr son gets into the school he will be amongst the bottom few and is likely to suffer) -
Just Mama, to share with you my personal experience last year. My girl was very upset when she could not get in her dream school. We appealed, she was called for interview, and the biggest stab into her heart, the appeal was unsuccessful. It was a difficult time for all of us. The last 2 weeks of Decemeber was totally ruined because everyone was in no mood for anything, except the appeal thing. She kept blaming herself for not getting that few marks more and cried many times. To cut the story short, eventually, she accepted the fact and move on with her posting school. During the 1st week, she already starting to love the posting school so much. Here, she has many opportunities, in CCA, in some writing compeitions, student leaders etc. which I think, she won't even have a chance if she is in that dream school. This appeal process has made her learn many important lessons of life and pull our relationship one more step nearer. Now she always tell me, \"Every cloud has a silver lining\" and I can see, she has grown stronger after that incident.

Have sent PM to you for some advice. Thank you in advance. -
you can only appeal on Reporting Day, where you go to the school you got placed in and someone else in the family go to the school you want to appeal. For last year, you will have to appeal before 10.30 am, if I am not wrong. The appeal process will be put up on the school’s individual websites soon, so check it.

How do we 'discover' their talent, short of trying different types of sport, musical instrument etc. Care to share if there are ways to assess if the kid has hidden talent?Would like to share with the parents with younger kids, choosing school by
1) dsa -- required few years effort on certain gifted talent
2) psle result -- 5 years consistent hardwork + exam luck
You really need to discover the talent in your kid as young as possible. most important is natural and they enjoy.
If you miss those, when you need to apeal after psle result, still back to the square, most of the transfer of school is based on the TALENT in your kid. -
I chose Whitley as my first choice with a cop of 203. My score is 213 which means I've a really high chance of getting in. After submitting my six choices, I went to google Whitley and found out the behaviour of this school is really atrocious.. My fifth and sixth choices are the only two schools which I've met the cut off point. They are Peirce followed by Guangyang. I now wish to appeal to Peirce, but am afraid it wouldn't be successful as I've placed it as my fifth choice. What should I do?

Have you called or emailed MOE to find out whether it is possible to amend your submission? Even if deadline already closed, there should still be some way.
