Choose where your heart tells you, that way you will enjoy your 4 years more. My DD's friend enjoys her ELDDS very much.Hi all,
I'm in a dilemma. i took all the auditions in school but i dun noe whether i should put ELDDS or Guzheng as second choice.
i put track n field first cos i think i did well in shotput and javelin(funny thing is that i'm borderline underweight), but i'm quite sure they will probably not accept me cos i'm too short so second choice is quite important.
I was in Guzheng in primary school but i take Drama classes and i kinda like drama better.
Any comments? :stupid: :stupid: -

Hi, if you like drama better, then by all means, choose EL as second choice. You should follow your heart and not how well the cca does, or how many cca points you can accumulate. Because after all, you're going to stick to the cca for 4 years, and if you don't like it, it will become a drag for you.Hi all,

It is true that you should join what you are interested in. However, CCA grades are extremely important. Even though A2 can warrant you a 2 bonus point, it is not enough if you aspire to enter top JCs like RI, considering how many 2 pointers there are. Another thing is CCA grade is also reflected on the result slip. Itโs kinda a pity if you get A1 for everything, but only A2 for CCA.

Hi Zeemimi! Are you from girl guides? Anything else you could share with us? I'm thinking of joining guides, is it fun? Or is it very strict and disciplined? Btw, I told them during the interview that I am not interested in joining guides, but I changed my mind after hearing more about it, if I don't get in because of that, do I appeal?desichan352:

not as regimental as ncc and npcc. some marching is still involved. so far guides in the first yr only takes up 2 weekdays. once in a while weekends. sometimes holidays. i would say still manageable. of coz if going for competition will likely take up more time. same goes for all the other ccas.
Yes, can appeal. No idea what is the success rate, but for my club (photography), we usually accept most people who appeal, or transfer in sec 2.
Advisepls, I would advise you to put guzheng as second choice. More cca points. They win in SYF. ELDDS only gets participation in SYF. Haha what if you do get in to track? Are you really keen in track? Track is cedar's niche..[/quote]Hi Twilight,
just curious, is volleyball also one of Cedar's niche?
I've read through Cedar's website, volleyball training is at Astra Sports hall... is this an indoor sports hall?
Thanks in advance... -
Yes, volleyball is a niche, together with table tennis, track and netball. And yes, Ad Astra is an indoor sports hall. All the sports hall are indoor.

hi
The school emphasises a lot on teamwork. Most of the girls' school projects are team based and lots of leadership programme training. My dd likes the school so much tat she did not even want to try DSA for IP schools this year.
This year, my dd is attending the talent development programme which is offered to the top 20% in the level. This will continue into S3 & 4 if she continues to remain in the top 20%.
can anyone share more about the talent development. DD selected for this. But there is limited info on the sch website about this. tks! -

The school will organise a talk and inform parents about the various programs under talent development (TD). Basically, there is the science, maths and humanitiies programs. Your dd has to choose which field she would like o develop. Each area has different set of activities / programs for the students and they can vary from year to year depending on the school's collaboration with other schools (local / international) and vendors.
