            Hi zac mum,

last year (2019), there was DSA \"Forensic\" Science domain.
            The requirements are here, below

            https://presbyterian.moe.edu.sg/direct-school-admission-exercise-2019-1/dsa-forensic-n-pharmaceutical-science

            in 2019,
out of Total 139 active (as some schools had merged) Secondary schools in Singapore, only two schools offered the rare, unique \"Forensic\" Science domain. One is Presbyterian High, another is Fuhua Secondary (Jurong West)

            newspaper report
            https://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/csi-and-get-school-your-choice-unique-dsa-talent-areas-singapore-schools

Fuhua Secondary, offered \"Forensic\" Science DSA domain
            https://fuhuasec.moe.edu.sg/life-at-fuhua/announcements/dsa-through-alp-in-forensic-science

This year (2020) however, for students born 2008, PHS offered DSA domain, \"Health\" Science

            https://presbyterian.moe.edu.sg/direct-school-admission-exercise/dsa-health-science

Two senior staff, in charge of \"Forensic\" science DSA domain last year, are no longer with the school. This year (2020), a new VP had joined PHS.

The DSA selection will invite short-listed P6 candidates to do video conferencing, via Google meet, in view of covid-19

            ==============================

            Perhaps,
this year's batch of 2020 P6 candidates (born 2008), who are interested (keen / passionate) in \"Health\" Science DSA, may clarify with the school, what is the definition of \"Health\" Science. Thank you

              Hi phtthp,

Thank you for these useful info. My son intends to take PCME.
He actually wants to pursue a career in Digital Forensics. Hopefully, studying this traditional Forensic Science would provide him some knowledge of the process of investigation...
Yes, do encourage your son to take GCE \"O\" level Economics.

From past years Economics papers (SEAB code \"2286\"), the structured questions (Non-multiple Choice questions) set in past batches National O level exam, are Not difficult to answer.

In fact, based on past year papers, O-level Economics papers are easier to tackle, compared to tackling O-level Core (Full) History. Core (Full) History is very intensive, very heavy content going. The amount of time required to spend on preparing for National O-level History exam, is time consuming, very demanding, if during key decision making time, to choose Sec 3 subject combination, to choose between O-level (Economics vs. History)

              Note that
Economics (2286), has to be a Core (Full) stand-alone subject by itself. Economics cannot be offered as an Elective, that accompany Social studies, unlike Elective (English Literature, Geography, History), these 3 Elective do exist, & are available to choose from, depending on his passion (interests) to read up more.

When your son have reached the End-of-Sec2 important year-end streaming,
and if he is keen in taking Upper Sec 3 Economics, perhaps can get him to approach either the Head of Humanities inside PHS, or approach the Senior-subject-Teacher-in-charge of Economics, or visit the available in-house PHS school library premises, see if can possibly take a look at sample past years O-level Econs papers (National exam) questions, borrow to zap a copy for personal usage (reference)

SEAB Econs examination coverage (scope it out)

                  take note

For "Express" stream O-level track students -

@year-end Sec 2 streaming in PHS,

If students intend to choose Upper Sec 3 Triple Pure Sciences, Presbyterian High school won’t allow students to take it concurrently with subject Economics (2286)

                  or vice versa
                  (phrase it, in another way)

If students wish to take up Sec 3 Economics (2286) -

                  then,
they are allowed to take up at the very most Double Pure Sciences,

                  either

                  - (Economics + Pure Physics + Pure Chemistry + Additional Maths + E Maths),

                  or

                  - (Economics + Pure Biology + Pure Chemistry + Additional Maths + E Maths),

                  ie.
                  you decide & choose between
                  Sec 3 (Biology vs. Physics).
Is it Pure (Biology or Physics) that you prefer to specialize in, since Chem is compulsory ?

                  but not allowed
(Economics + Triple Pure Sciences, concurrently).

                  No,
PHS school forbid this very heavy content subject combination, comprising both
                  (Econs + Triple Pure Sciences)
PHS school want to ensure that students are able to manage & balance their study work-load demand, & perform well at GCE "O" level

                        Hi mrsngpk,

I am PHS alumnus who graduated many years ago. I visited PHS Open House 2019 and learnt from the student counselors (prefects) during the walk-around tour that they have compulsory chapel session once a week. There are non-Christians students in PHS too. As far as I know, there is no mandatory religious studies. You can submit queries to PHS at https://form.gov.sg/#!/5f926ceeee09d80011c96f7d to confirm whether what I mentioned are still correct.
