I believe that this is harder to find for 2 reasons - the first is that as \"nearly-adults\", students are expected to learn on their own, and seek help from friends and lecturers if they need to, rather than have regular tuition. The other reason is that every poly course is different, so it would be impossible to have tuition classes. If you really want tuition for your child, you will probably need to find a tutor by word of mouth, or ask an agency to specially find one if they have the contacts. The tuition would probably have to be one-to-one unless your child can find a classmate or 2 to share.
I heard that even university students also go for tuition. :yikes:

      Is it true? :scratchhead:

I have heard the rumour, but no direct info if this is actually true. And it could be that a student needed help for a particular subject/topic, and was willing to pay for help, not that he engaged a tutor to guide him through the entire course. Even if true, it must be very rare - I know a good no. of university students, and no-one has ever mentioned someone who has private tuition.

It is so easy to find tuition for Primary, Secondary and even JC. When it comes to Polytechnic, there isn't much information on this. This coming year my child is heading Polytechnic and was wondering is there any tuition help she can go to if she needs help to improve her studies. Wonder anyone out there can provide more information to approach this? Appreciate any advise given. :thankyou:
          Hi mondecoinmetier,

The following article may be useful for you.

          https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/education/he-goes-for-tuition-and-hes-in-poly

Tuition agencies contacted say they have been receiving more inquiries from tertiary students who want a tutor to help them do better in polytechnic or university.

Most of the demand is for tuition in mathematics, statistics, engineering and accounting.

SP interviews were completed already. My child was not called up for interview, means not shortlisted.

Thank you. Means my DD also out already. Sign... when she was attempting the questions online, some of the pictures did not load so she just made guesses.

Hi, do they need sec 3 result to apply EAE ?
It depends on the course they are applying to. Some courses ask to see the Sec 3 results when they go for the interview, but some courses don't see the portfolio at all.

The most important is the write-up and then the child's portfolio.

If you need more information, let me know and I will be glad to help.

Sharing a link on some YouTube videos of Poly life, poly tips & poly courses. It maybe helpful to some of the parents here.
