It's a literature book?? Sounds like some thriller movie... 😆
Published in 1953. Very popular literature text (generally in the same category as 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, etc)

So far... I haven't read Lord of the Flies yet  Paiseh. Only did Animal Farm, which I don't like much because I felt it was too contrived. Simplifying human politics to just cartoonish animals only serves to amplify views from a narrow focal point. While Napoleon the pig is obviously evil, I don't remember reading anything that explains why he became like that other than he is simply greedy. Life's much more complex than that.

Yes, Lord of the Flies by William Golding is one of my favourite novels when I was in Secondary school. I can still remember all the details and those characters in the story today. My classmates said I behave like the characters \"Simon\" in the novel but actually I hope myself could become \"Roger\". :yikes:

I read it when I was a bit older, maybe JC age? I was horrified by the behaviour of the boys - I can't say it could ever be my \"favourite\". I've refused to read it ever again!

you need to provide more detail like name of your specific Literature text title,

                    because

not every experienced Literature teacher has taught all the Lit text before. Cannot be vague.

                    Moreover,
                    every 3 to 5 years,
Secondary schools will change their Literature text. No school would want their Upper Secondary students to keep doing the same O-level Literature text, year after year, batch after batch.

Thus, there could be new textbook(s) for Lit, newly introduced by schools. If this happen, your kid may possibly end up as the pioneering, first O-level batch taking National exam for these newly been introduced Lit text.

Sorry, I really don't know as I studied the book more than 35 years ago and my son didn't study Eng Lit. May any parents help.
