      Hi,

Anyone has any good science assessment books to recommend ? especially one that focus on experiments questions or open ended questions.

My son started his Sec 1 Science class in Just Education last week. I was told that the tutor will always teach ahead of the school syllabus. As my son is quite weak in Science, he was quite lost after the lessons. I actually prefer if the class can complement what is taught in school then at least he can have sort of revision and refresh his memory.

I know its not easy to have one which suits his needs but if he is always lost then I don’t see the point to continue the classes. Anyone can recommend a good centre?

My dd is also very weak in Science. She is blur about chemistry and she hates it. Besides, she said she does not know what teacher is talking about during lesson!! 😒

DS is having loads of problems with S2 Physics-- the formulas aspect. Anyone has any tutor to recommend? We live in the South side, near Vivo City. The problem with Science Enrichment ctrs is that most schools teach different modules at any point in time. So it would seem private tutor is best option.

Or does anyone have a recommendation on how to self "master" Work and Pressure, Work and Moments chapters?

Here is a useful website for science notes / guidebooks:

              http://www.smashingexams.com.sg

My understanding is that it has been recommended in a number of secondary schools. Perhaps you might find the books handy too.

Hi, I understand different schools use different science textbooks. Are the topics relevant for all science textbooks?

              Hello leesf,

I would like to share with you that I made an enquiry to them on your concern – which is also mine. I was told their books are updated per the latest MOE syllabus. At the moment, most schools in Singapore use one of two textbooks for Lower Secondary – Science Matters and Science Discovery which their books are in line with these textbooks. They said the children will find the books very useful – which I hope my child will have the same sentiments. πŸ˜„

I have ordered a set from them and will self collect by my husband today.

              Cheers!

I bought the full set of books, but it’s not so good as i expected.Yes the notes looks good but i think the exercise is not enough for getting good marks.

Now for my sons second term i now went popular and bought 2 assessment books.
I think like in primary schools the kids needs to practice more questions.
