Hi kitty2,Can you share whether the above books are better than the assessment books in Popular?
Thanks
Personally, I feel the notes are pretty comprehensive and easy to remember the concepts. My daughter shares the same sentiment. After each chapter, it comes with quiz questions which are good for practice. It is much better than textbook which is wordier. Besides having this book, my daughter has a Longman assignment book to expose to other types of questions.

Hi rubydoll,I bought the full set of books, but it's not so good as i expected.Yes the notes looks good but i think the exercise is not enough for getting good marks.
Now for my sons second term i now went popular and bought 2 assessment books.
I think like in primary schools the kids needs to practice more questions.
It's good to hear your inputs. May I ask which level is your son study now?
Did your son make use of this book for his exams lately?
Cheers! -
Hi ONGMUM
My son is in sec 1. I bought this book after reading from this site. My son used for his term 1 -physics.
yes the notes are good. But i now i think he needs more assessment books to practice as in psle.
I stopped buying assessment books like how i did in his psle .But after a while only i realized that is wrong.Yes longman is good for revision. -

Content of the assessment book is more important than the publisher
Extra help is often more helpful than self study -
how about for pure chem and physic can give me web??

Good day,
I have recently bought Singapore curriculum O level science books , (9th/10th grade). The books cover the three branches of science: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I would appreciate some information as to the order in which I should study the three branches. Should I study one branch of science every year, or should I study them all at the same time? as in: One week of physics, one week of chemistry, one week of biology or all subjects in one day.
Thanks in advance. -

I bought the O-Level Physics and Chem bks from Smashing Exams (http://www.smashingexams.com.sg) as well. Got the Lower Sec Vol A and B series first, then got the upper sec ones too. I tink the upper sec books are more in-depth and detailed, and complement the lower sec ones for IP students.
There is also the Marshall Cavendish Perfect Guide books (http://resource.marshallcavendish.com/mcdoc/console/DocumentDetail.aspx?viewType=catalogue&id=48959), which I got from Popular. But in my opinion, they are very bad buys. The notes are too simple, and similar to textbooks.
For MCQs, i recommend Longman 1001 MCQ, the ones with the fingers to indicate level of difficulty. Don't get the other Longman MCQ book, as the questions are kinda of easy.
TYS, avoid the SAP ones. I feel that the segregation of the the qns is poor. Also, very few qns per topic. The Dyna ones are better

Thanks maggielhy for sharing.
I've got the MC Perfect Guide bks - didn't know they're too simple ( I'm a Sci idiot  ). Will ask DH to evaluate ... thanks for pointing this out ...
Will also have a look see at the Longman 1001 MCQ.
