hi tree nymph,
Must try their carrot cake, beancurd skin prawn, zha leung (rice roll with doughstick). And try their ice tea...I love that they don't put ice cubes INSIDE the tea....they put the ice in a bowl and plonk the tea in the midst of the ice. -

if i've no viewing tomorrow, i will try to go down to try their dim sum tomorrow and let you know if they are closed on monday or not. He told me no rest day but cos the background was noisy so i may have heard wrongly. Anyway, i think they are closed on 12 feb to 15 feb? think they are open for business on the 3rd day of CNY. -
thanks
tree nymph ... u sell property? -
Yah, viewing what? Sounds amazing. Tks for calling ahead. I wanna go soon :)!!

Hua Nam’s steamed yam cake is fab. Really can see chunks of yam. Very old school.
St Regis’s Yan Ting serves good dim sum. Can be pricey, but then of course, it is St Regis.
My all time fav is Hua Ting, never fails. -
tankee,
bo lah, i wanna buy a place - need to move.
victor’s kitchen
i went there today. can call in advance to book a table. i called 10 mins in advance only. they are now open everyday, 10.30am to 8pm
tried a few of their dim sum, my kids love his char siew buns - i think they are very nice. the ha gao is very good too, skin is thin and the prawn is sweet - but must eat while warm. we are also very impressed with the fried water chestnut cake and their yam cake. chunks of yam in the yam cake too. we like the chee cheong fun and their lotus rice. the latter soft, and not sticky sticky. good! we had a few kinds of tea. they are all good. But hb is not too impressed with the chicken feet but he said he will still come and eat if around. standard wise, some dishes better than crystal jade, some crystal jade is better. but the range with crystal jade is bigger. -
wah, thanks for the detailed description tree nymph …I think we have not tried the fried water chestnut cake and their yam cake yet…but will definetly tried it out the next time …
hquek, yes their carrot cake, beancurd skin prawn, zha leung are so yummy. Have not tried their tea though? Is it different from what we we have a kopitiums?
