Changes In Children

Yep, fodder for another thread but won't a parent teach abstinence :?
-
You are right. abstinence is no longer exercise greatly in family values today.
Everyone is talking about ‘Just do it!’
Maybe apart from athletes or musicians less and less people exercise abstinence anymore… -
Bear.w.me, hows your girl doing so far? Any improvement?

Heard from the news on radio this morning, a country (cannot hear clearly which country) is introducing and selling small size condoms for age 12 to 14. I hope this would not be introduced here.

How can this be legal? I thought having sex under 14 is illegal? :? -

Thanks Daisyt for the concern. I deliberately slacken down my part and allowed her more space on her own. She is less nervous towards PSLE because she starts seeing school counsellor for some advice and that helps a bit.
We met the teacher for the CA1 results review recently...the teacher found that she has phobia towards higher order questions...wow that really caught us in a fix.
Anyway, i think no choice but to step up the accelerator and hope that the pedal won't get jam and causing un-desirable results. I can only cross my fingers and get the best results out of what time there is left for my child to prepare herself. -

So, what is the teacher's suggestion on this phobia towards higher order questions?daisyt:

Glad, to know the school counsellor is of help to her. -
Bear.w.me, do you think starting at/going back to lower level (like p4, p5) higher order questions may give her the confidence she needs first, and then adding the P6 questions later?
I’m out of my depth here, but hope this suggestion helps.
All the best. -
Thank you Blobbi. Not really sure if I can find any higher order questions from past years but will try anyhow. Frankly she did not have much problems until mid year of P5. Maybe a matter of training. Also, no point pushing too hard as it may back-fire. A lot of tender loving care is required here.
Regarding Daisyt's question, counsellor only helps in psychological sense...a way of lending listening ears and enlarging her perspective towards facing life challenges. In doing so I hope she is able to cope.
I would rather not talk about it anymore until after the PSLE. -

Sure, no problem. I wish all the best to her, not only in her results but also her attitute towards life. :celebrate: -

Now that PSLE is over for 2 weeks i am ready to provide some updates.
In preparing for PSLE, this old man encouraged DD to start jogging to help improve physical and mental stamina. Also, the muscles need to relax too. I find that it helped a lot.
DD has been offered a place in DHS via DSA. That eased the tension a bit. More importantly I managed to identify her phobia for topics like geometry and speed. I strengthen her science facts and revise languages with her (which she did not know how to prepare)....voila she managed to regain her confidence. Knowing what to cover between papers are key in protecting her confidence. As a result she enters every examination session with a cheerful heart.
After thought
Of course the easier PSLE paper this year would be a sort of 'barometer' for careless mistakes. I would say spread of T-score should be more moderate than last year but overall cut-off point for school may be higher for all school because more students will expect higher T-score.
