Hi, my niece attended this centre, Indigo at novena and did well for her PSLE to get into a IP school. My sis was very happy with the centre. Can go and take a look. Hopefully my girl will score as well as my niece in the PSLE when her turn comes.

I realize finding a good science tuition center is really the most difficult as compare to the other subjects. My DD1 is with an "atas" centre for science. The curriculum team produces very good science notes but problem is the centre engage fresh graduate science teachers who are unable to deliver the lessons well. It is a nightmare for us parents who after paying such high fee, get a teacher who has no experience in teaching nor NIE trained. Turnover of the teachers is also very high and this is very bad for the students as they get temporary teachers for the next few lessons, then a permanent teacher who is a fresh graduate. I was hesitant to change center in the beginning as I like the quality notes but well, it is not important now as my DD did not perform well enough for her SA1. A qualified teacher is just as important. We canโt have one but not the other. I am sourcing for an alternative for my elder one as well as for my younger one who will be in P3 next year. If anyone has recommendation of a good tuition centre near Bishan/ Novena/ Thomson area, do let me know. Greatly appreciate.

Perceptum Science : http://www.perceptumscience.com.sg
Joanne Science Whiz Education Centre : https://m.yoursingaporemap.com/company/ ... ion-centre -

Hi, I think I know which atas one you referring to. I heard about it from the \"third party point of views\" ex-teachers from that particular centre (brand you are talking about) In fact, you can go http://www.glassdoor.com to read what the ex-teachers have to say. Basically almost same as what you mentioned. What you are paying is for the brand. The core is the teacher's ability to teach, rather than a brand name of a famous centre.
You can try private tuition, using the same amount you are paying for to get a 1 to 1 NIE trained teacher and see if you can compare before and after of your child's academic performance in Science. But of course, you need to put in time and effort to teach and guide your child in Science as well. A cheaper alternative will be to place the child in a tuition centre taught by an ex-NIE trained Science teacher.
Work around your child's schedule and see if private tuition works for her/him.
