Hi BigDevil,

Personally, I would just go for Dell. Their pricing is competitive, and their products are not too bad. We have several of them in the office, and so far there haven't been any major issues other than the normal wear and tear as expected of heavy daily usage. Then the convenience of the on-site service is one major factor, since I won't have to take leave and then waste it waiting at a service centre.
We also have HP in the office and they are pretty good too, so that's one brand I would go for too.
Suggest you perhaps drop by tech sites like http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg to take a look at their forums. You will find personal experiences of users and that will probably give you a better guide of what to get.
Good luck with your search! -
If you’re not particular about which brand, you can consider ACER. Dw just bought an ACER from Challenger Whitesands for $849 which was good enough for surfing, word processing and Photoshop. ASUS also had an offer, $938 with a 2 yr warranty.
I have a personal dislike for Dell, but it’s because my company use to supply parts to them and they were very x 10 difficult customers. -

I am planning to shift my career to home-based freelancing since I have read positive feedback about work-at-home jobs. So, I am planning to buy a new workstation. I already have a Macbook but I want a more sturdy computer to suit my graphic design needs. Do you know any store here in One Tree Island that I could visit and check for options? We just move here a week ago so I am not really familiar with the places here. Thanks!
