Seems like the thread has been dead for awhile.

Wonder if any parents are able to answer a couple of question??

Do they teach problem solving? How do they teach that?? Role playing of concept teaching??

      Thanks..

Yeah! I was at the Kidz Academy Exhibition at Suntec City on sunday and Math Monkey was there. They gave me their brochures and you can check them out at http://www.mathmonkey.com.sg. Apparently they teach Math in a fun way!

What do you mean by role playing of concept teaching????

for people interested in Vedic Maths,

you can check out a few books from Amazon.com

          http://www.amazon.com/Vedic-Mathematics-Made-Dhaval-Bathia/dp/8179924076/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301329028&sr=1-1

          or
this book has an ebook version, so if you've a kindle, you can just download it straight away, instant gratification πŸ™‚
          http://www.amazon.com/Speed-Mathematics-Using-Vedic-System/dp/141161061X/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301329028&sr=1-3

or you can drop by a Popular Bookstore and check out
Maths Express: Speed Maths Strategies (Level 3 and Level 4) by Li Fanglan from FAN-MATH.
Level 3 focuses on Subtraction and Addition while Level 4 focuses on Multiplication and Division.
The Maths Express does not do Vedic Maths, but I find that some concepts are pretty similar, especially the multiplication part.

Yeah, I was looking at the program flyer that they gave me and yes, some programs cover time and money. I know this is a game based program so the children play games while at the same time learn Math. They said the children play different games every week but I am not sure if there is role playing though....

Yeah, Math Monkey called me to go for a free trial last week but hubby outstation so I said wait for him to come back, then go together. Anyway, need to go and sign up my girl for their June Holiday Program. My girl said she wants to attend. I welcome any opportunity where my girl said she wants to learn Math! Better learn something during school holidays then stay at home and become a short sighted potato!

Anyone enrolled in the novena centre? My 4.5 year old went for the open house trial cum assessment on 12 Nov and enjoyed it very much. Til today still keep asking me why I did not sign her up. I only sat in for around 15mins of the lesson b4 parents are invited to another room to view a presentation of their programme. Throughout this 15mins, there is alot of interaction btw the teacher and kids and they are very eagar to participate in the activities and answer the questions teacher asked. No hard-selling at the end of the trial, they just ask you which timeslot you prefer and will notify you if there is any available class.
