I found a way to get kids interested in ‘serious’ books. I brought them to the Peranakan Museum recently, it seemed to stimulate their interest. There was a small bookshop next door, I relaxed and drank coffee while they browsed the books. They ended up getting afew about Asian culture and art, without my involvement. Never happened before. Think I’ll bring them every holiday, if I can keep them interested.

Time to burn a hole in the pocket again. No complaints because books are cheaper at the sale. Thanks, pen88n!

NTU also holding a mini book fair, but it may be a bit too far for some of you.

                  Sale: 1 book for $4 , 3 for $10
                  Others: more than S$5

Take bus 179 and alight at the Lee Wee Nam library.

                    despmom, very True!

I went for the last Popular Fair, the stationary items are so much cheaper.
But the problem is the queuing up to pay even though Popular
have a lot of cashiers, the queue is super long.
Are they clearing old stocks or what?

alanchow76, this popular bookfest is a yearly affair at end of year for parents to stock up on assessment books for the next school year 😉
